Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I had to go out this morning to finish stocking up on candy for Halloween, among other things. Disappointed to find nobody had any chocolate eyeballs. How can I have Halloween without chocolate eyeballs? *pouts*

Anyway, I was out for hours, spent a lot more than I meant to, popped into the crystal shop to treat myself to a few crystals, and also got myself a gingerbread mummy at the bakers. I sort of wish I'd bought two, but they're not cheap.

All that means I haven't had the time or energy for much crafting today. I have attached tails to the 10 meeces I put brooch backs on yesterday, so at least I did something. While I was out I was complimented on the mini meece I was wearing, the cashier in the health food store really liked it =)

And I got my flu jab, so yay! (My Covid booster isn't until November 4th. I booked that yesterday, just hoping they don't keep cancelling on me this time).

Sounds like a good day, and flu shot accomplished! A friend had the flu a couple weeks ago and he was unusually ill, it is supposed to be a bad year for it.

So I've heard, but I always have my flu shot, just had to wait for my pharmacy to get their stock in. I nipped in on the way home, said "Flu shot?" and the girl was like, "I'll do you right away." I was in and out in about 5 minutes, and nice that I didn't have to pay because it's free for over 50s again this year. Prior to last year, I always had to pay up if I wanted to be vaccinated. Not that I minded paying, but NOT paying is even better!

Oh that's nice. Our insurance covered all of it this year, some years they don't (but it will not be very expensive).

I've usually paid between £8 and £12, but always figured it was worth the price.

Tragedy about the chocolate eyeballs! The crystals and gingerbread mummy sound like wins, though.

They had Cherry Quartz at last, they were out of stock the last 2 times I went in, and there was Green Quartz as well, so I both for myself and a friend of mine. Got a Cherry Quartz crystal chip bracelet as well, and a sunny Citrine one.

Very pleased to get that out of the way. Last time I was at the pharmacy they were still waiting for the vaccines to be delivered.

It was a very busy and tiring day; I was out for over 3 hours traipsing around the shops. Glad I did it though.

We have had a big cold snap and the giant marigolds are dead. I thought I should go out and cut them off today, but what's the rush? It is a bit chilly, where it is nice all day after tomorrow for several days. I'm staying in my sunny room and picked up the tapestry doily.

I have also picked up a bit more from the plaster project and put some paint and wood stain on order to refinishing a dresser. It's going to become my yarn storage.

It's stinky on the inside (like decades of scented carpet powder?) and damaged cosmetically on the outside. The stinkiness is worse for the yarn.

They were still blooming like crazy and had bees all over them, then we had 2 frozen days. I will definitely have to plant marigolds again next year. No effort.

Poor marigolds. The dead heads will provide some protection for the rest of the plant though, unless it's an annual, in which case they're doomed anyway.

Always good to have somewhere to store your yarn!

Yeah, annuals here. Which sometimes means I have them until mid-November or even later. Not this time!

I'm really looking forward to finally having proper storage!

Those sudden cold snaps kill annuals in an instant. I feel sorry for the bees, deprived of a food source literally overnight.

Having all your yarn in one place will be good. You'll know what you've got and won't have to go searching when you need something.

I spent some time working on the scarf earlier and am probably going to keep going in a little bit; if I don't finish the second skein tonight, it'll definitely be tomorrow, so I'll only have to take one skein with me on holiday. Woo!

Cupcake statistics:
- Cupcake bases sewn on: 5 out of 12;
- Numbers sewn on: 4 out of 12;
- Velcro dots sewn on: 8 out of 24.
A great deal more to do, but I had household duties today. *sigh*

That's still great progress. I went and looked back at your photos from the other day, those snowmen are my favorite I think (and glad to hear that angel turned up!).
