Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

So far today I've sewn up and stuffed 10 meece bodies. Hoping to get a few more knitted while I watch the Strictly results show and Frozen Planet, but my computer keeps flashing up security alerts every couple of minutes that it's infected by viruses, and the alerts are coming from security programs I don't even HAVE on this computer, as well as supposedly from MS Edge. I ran a scan with my current security and that says everything is fine, so I don't kniow what's going on. It's annoying as well as worrying.

That doesn't sound good! I hope it's just false alerts.

I think they must be because a scan didn't reveal anything. But I've only got a few more days on the free version of the security program, then I need to either pay to continue or install the one I already have paid for on my mini laptop.

Ah, so annoying. It could be Microsoft's own security basically whining that you aren't using it.

Who knows? I only have free security for a few more days, then I either have to pay or install a different program that I already paid for that's on my mini laptop. These days everything is extra and has to be paid for after only a few days or a few weeks. It's a rip-off. I've managed to turn off the notifications for the moment so I'm not being interrupted every few minutes, but I'm not sure if that's going to affect notifications I want.

Thanks, turns out it was a bit of malware best dealt with by deleting my history.

The mini pin-on meeces are coming along well, just need the brooch backs to arrive so I can see if they'll work, but there was a postal strike Friday and Saturday.

I was just about to message you to check you were okay since you haven't been around for a while. I hope all is well.

Thanks for thinking of me - life is plodding on but hopefully I'm trying to get my perspective back and get a little time for both following a few things online and crafting.

I've made the page base for the Christmas tree page. In case you are interested, this was the inspiration.

I think mine will turn out quite different, since I won't be able to get most of the required appliqués, so I'll have to improvise as I go, but that's all right. There are some details I don't like anyway, and the last thing I'd put on top of my tree would be a five-pointed red star. I've sewn on the tree already - it got wider than originally planned, and not quite as pretty in shape as in the video, but since I cut it our from a piece of doubled-over felt free hand it isn't that bad. And on a fat tree there is lots of room for pretty decorations, right?

I'm sure version will be lovely, and big trees do provide plenty of room to try different things.

Did a bit more yardwork, mostly tidying up the space along the property line. I will be dumping the white marble gravel along that edge to help prevent weeds. Spread the first load, so now the wheeled bin is empty for another session picking up rocks.

I also shopped online for hyacinths and picked out a reasonable order both in size and price. No, I don't need 100 bulbs.

Doing a little work on the basket here and there.

I had wrote this ^ earlier and apparently didn't hit submit. I've got the basket looking like a basket now, instead of a vague rectangular lump.

Hyacinths are lovely, they smell so good, but 100 would definitely be too many for most gardens.

I've not done any crafting in the last few months, but yesterday I finally sat down with the dolphin tapestry and made a bit of progress.

Crafting goes in phases depending on what else is happening and what we feel in the mood for. I've been mostly gardening and doing computer stuff over summer. Only the approach of Halloween has got me back into crafting.

I need to start thinking about the C word in terms of my crafting but for the moment I'm just trying to fit something that doesn't involve too much clutter or too much complicated thinking back into my routine by working on the tapestry. The most complicated thinking I have to do with this tapestry is to decide where one colour ends and the next one starts! Or how to keep the frame balanced so that I can work on it!

Some crafting does involve a lot of complexity. There's a lot to be said for the simpler kinds.
