Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today went off the rails a bit, but in a nice way. My friend came over to do the shopping, came back from town with an extra bag, and "Have you got anywhere to put some wallflowers?" So out into the garden we went — thankfully it was dry and sunny, felt quite pleasant after yesterday's cold and rain. We dug weeds out of the banking between the host of self-set euphorbias and bunged in maybe 20-25 wallflower plants. After that he had to go back to town and get more for himself, but if the plants survive winter, I'll have sweet-smelling flowers come spring.

That left me way behind with other plans, so I didn't get any meeces sewn up and stuffed, but I crocheted 8 pairs of ears, and this evening I managed to knit three meeces.

Having some wallflowers next spring will be lovely - and even if one or two don't make it, I'm sure most of them will - most things seem to happily grow in your garden!

Mostly it's the things I didn't plant and don't want that do well though...

That is still progress - and the prospect of wallflowers sounds lovely.

I'm happy about the wallflowers, and that I had somewhere to plant some this year. They'll bring a splash of colour in spring, flowers for the bees.

Ooo nice. Are they orange? I had to look them up because I realized we do not usually grow them here.

I have no idea, they could be orange, red, yellow, or all three. I won't know until they flower next spring since they're biennials. Just have to wait and see. The flowers have a wonderful scent so I'm looking forward to that.

The wallflowers are looking quite perky this morning, I think the rain later today will suit them. They're pretty hardy, so as long as nothing eats them, they should put on a good display come spring.

I managed to work a bit on the quiet book page. The gift boxes are now finished, equipped with ribbons and bows and a decorative bead each, plus the Christmas-themed stickers inside. They can also be removed and rearranged (yay, Velcro work), and all in all look really good. The page is nearly done, I just have to sew on the Velcro for the bell and the gingerbread man that will serve as additional decoration, but that will be done tomorrow. My fingertips were seriously protesting. *g*

Excellent! Don't overdo the velcro work though, you don't wany to make your fingers so sore you can't do anything.

The dog is more comfortable and napped a lot today, I left her to sleep and worked in the flowerbed. I finished digging new soil into the main flowerbed finally! Moved a big handful of grape hyacinth bulbs into the area of the front yard that has the fire hydrant to spread.

Tonight I'm going to work on making a rectangular crochet basket to go in my headboard shelf. Everything I try to keep in the cubbies falls out if I don't have a basket.

So glad your dog is feeling better, poor little pup. Must have been quite traumatic for her.

Baskets do help keep things where you want them =)

She's still hurting some. I think tonight's problem is being stiff. Muscle and ligament injuries take ages.

People get physio after such injuries, but I don't suppose that's available for most dogs. Poor little pup.

Cut out a dress pattern - the Sicily slip dress - for sewing this weekend.

Might sew together a penny-patch block or two. Every year I say I need to start working through my scraps. EVERY YEAR FOR THE LAST DECADE FFS.

I find whenever I try to use up scraps of anything for projects, I somehow end up with more scraps than I had before, despite using a lot...
