Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today I almost finished the quiet book page with the big red bauble (see previous entry; it's the upper left corner of the whole thing). Mine is slightly different: white feathers instead of green ones, flower-shaped beads instead of star-shaped ones (one has to use what's available), and the background will be sewn full of star-shaped gold sequins. So far I've finished all the important parts, only the sequins that go to the left side are to be don yet, so I'm well pleased.

It *is* a very easy pattern. Sewing on the tiny star-shaped sequins one by one to make the background... now *that* will take some time yet.

As far as the pattern itself is concerned, yeah, it is. But I'm already bored to death by sewing on the background sequins one by one. *sigh*

As I mentioned above, the pattern itself is easy. The background, OTOH, is fussy and boring work and will take at least another day.

I'm a bit late tonight because of the Strictly Come Dancing launch show, might be late again tomorrow with the first show, we shall se. Might post early.

I got out in the garden for a couple of hours since this was the last day of good weather, sunshine and 18C. Tomorrow it'll be done to 15C, but still some sun. Next week looks like mostly rain. Still, I cleared some ivy, and discovered 3 Cyclamen plants, one is in the middle of the path I'm clearing -in front of the greenhouse. Not the most ideal spot.

I'm considering knitting some mini meeces (same patterns as the big ones but knitted with 3-ply) for brooches. I'll have to get some little safety pins though.

Not all that much ground cleared, but there was a lot of ivy, and a lot of soggy old laurel leaves (it rained last night), so I filled 4 buckets.

It could happen. Meeces are a permanent temptation.

I've taken a few days off from crafts to focus on writing, but today I at least ordered some sewing and knitting supplies, so that counts for something. I'm planning to make my first actual sewing project a pumpkin pincushion - if I mess it up, I don't think it'll matter too much!

It did, thank you! I wrote a short ghost story, outlined a longer ghost story, wrote a blog post about writing ghost stories, and wrote a newsletter :D

Nothing like a good ghost story!

I've been taking part in the spook_me fest for the past several years, it's a lot of fun. You get two pieces of artwork for you chosen creature as added inspiration. Sometimes I'll use both, bit this time I'm just using one, a particularly creepy goblin cat with glowing eyes. Hoping to make it a really creepy story although I'm well over 2k into the story and the cat hasn't made an on-screen appearance yet.

I took a look at it a few years ago but couldn't wrap my head around the format for some reason - that sounds fun!

I've been enjoying it. Not everything suits everyone though. It's low pressure, which suits me. If I don't get everything finished, or even started, it's still okay.

Rough couple days here. The dog slipped, fell off the couch, and hurt her shoulder. At first it didn't seem too bad but she started having muscle spasms. She's on gabapentin now instead of just doggie nsaids and is finally comfortable.

It's been rainy and cold, but the sun came out this afternoon. I hope to resume regular schedule tomorrow. I'd finished the doily before the injury drama.

Oooh, doily! I like making doilies, too. So far I've only crocheted them, but I did try a knitted doily once (couldn't handle the thread with the tiny needles, too fiddly). I quite like the Petite Pineapple doily - I've made several! -- but my favorite is probably Ruby's Pineapple Medley which I made for my mom.

My crafting mojo is slowly returning, partially because my craft fair excitement is coming back. The fair is rapidly approaching - it's October 8th! - and so I've been gathering supplies for it. I bought an ornament display stand from Amazon the other day (arriving today!) and this afternoon went to the dollar store for tableclothes, mini chalkboards, chalk, and picture frames (which will be used for signs).

I am still not crafting much, but did make three bookmarks today, so that's something at least!
