Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

There are a lot more plant pots in the driveway now, I did some more sorting *sigh* I just hope people start taking them soon, there are a couple of hundred at least. I guess it's progress, but I still have way more than I'll ever need.

Now I'm going back to editing the unwanted html coding from my LJ Master Lists. There are still a few that need tidying before I get to work on the much more difficult dreamwidth versions.

I agree, but I sorted out two more Master lists on LJ, and successfully fixed the smallest one here on dreamwidth. I'm feeling very accomplished right now. =)

I'm gonna do some knitting later, but this afternoon I decided to take my first stab at the sewing machine. I didn't break anything so I'm going to consider it a positive first step, but boy do I have some learning to do before I even feel comfortable hemming my new shirt that's too big 😂

I hear you! My Louise (the 20cmx20cm mini sewing machine) is some 3 years old, but my stomach is still like a shrivelled lemon every time I need to use it.

I'm motivated at least because I really want to be able to tailor my own clothes and maybe even eventually make them, but boy this machine scares me :x

My problem with these electric sewing machines is that I can't regulate the speed to my liking (=extremely slow, haha). I learned to sew (a very little bit) on my Grandma's old Singer machine where I had to use a foot pedal, so I could sew as slow as I wanted. I'm seriously challenged by everything that needs to be done in a straight line, so when the sewing machine runs away under my hands, I usually screw up the whole thing.

The one I'm using has a foot pedal; I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, but I haven't yet got the steadiness down. I keep trying not to be too hard on the pressure but it won't do anything unless I put more pressure on it than I'd like, and then I startle myself because I feel like it's going too fast. I did in fact screw up the whole thing today (I'm just trying to do straight lines of thread on an old pillowcase) but I figure it'll just take practice.

You're braver than me! Sewing machines are scary, I haven't used one in 40 years, lol!

The sewing machines at school always hated me, they never worked when I tried to use them.

I finished 4 more of the little felt snowmen and sorted out the tiny silver and gold star-shaped sequins, so that's good progress. Five more are to go, and I feel that my interest in mass-producing Christmas ornaments is ebbing somewhat. I'm currently entertaining the idea of making a Christmas-themed quiet book. There are so many excellent ideas on Pinterest I'd like to try out.

I'm finally getting started again with my knitting after a summer hiatus due to coursework and travel. Today I sewed in ends on three nearly-finished projects and wet-blocked two of them (the third has to wait until my blocking mats and pins are free again), plus frogged one and chose a new pattern for the yarn, and knit a couple of inches of sock.

I'll probably take advantage of being on this roll to cast on a new project or two tonight!

I really need to start something new myself now the weather is getting colder. Knitting warms me up.

I did finally get a little bit of stitching done today, sitting and talking with a friend. It's such a relief to stab some fabric again. :D

You do need to fit in some relaxing stitching, squeeze in a little each day.
