Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

Note: I'm just jumping in for [personal profile] badly_knitted while she is having computer problems. Therefore the daily check-in posts might lack certain details. Please, bear with me, and happy crafting!

Hello! Haven't been round in a while, it got hot again and then I had a mental illness spiral and then I had Covid so I just haven't been a functional human being for like, a month. But I finally picked up the scarf again today, planning to spend the rest of the evening knitting.

I finished the socks, have cast on another pair. Comfort knitting at its best!

I also picked up a cross stitch book for a quid at a boot sale.

Yay for finished socks, and the next pair! You'll have cosy feet.

Great that you found a cross stitch book for such a low price. Enjoy!

I went outside for a little while, cutting back brambles. Had just nipped indoors when the doorbell rang - it was my neighbours, asking if I knew anything about squirrels. Well, I know about as much as the next person who's had them raiding the bird food, but I went out anyway. They had a young and totally fearless little squirrel scratching around in their driveway and had no idea what to do with it. Then it tried to climb my neighbour's leg, must have mistaken him for a tree, An easy mistake since he's about 6 foot 7. Poor guy had to coax squirrel onto his hand and take it to an actual tree. No idea what happened after that.

In other news, I now have a new computer, 512GB which will hopefully be enough memory. Now I have to transfer all my files to it, which is going to take a while.

Ah, the endless bramble war. We are very familiar with that as well.

Well, that's a unique experience for your neighbor!

What a ridiculous squirrel incident! My husband is always offended that the area squirrels are not afraid of him? Who knows.

Good luck with the new computer.

Worked a little in the yard to empty the one soil barrel which does NOT have drain holes before it rained. I put more soil into the part of the flower bed I have finished, added some over by the native plants, etc. This was easier once the barrel was empty enough I could just pick it up.

We have been getting a nice, steady rain most of the afternoon. It's fairly cool too - I got out an afghan and made a cup of tea, then looked at doily patterns for a while. I picked one called "sand dollar" to make for my little cousin's wedding and started it in cream.

The heart ornaments will be my palate cleanser between other projects all this fall.

Sounds a busy but enjoyable day! Good luck with the doily!

Your garden will appreciate the rain.

I missed two episodes of WTNV so I stitched a row and a half listening to them. Definitely looking forward to my raise next month so I can get three more skeins to make this a proper shawl.

Things have been bonkers lately, but I have managed a few things.

After much frustration, I think I finally figured out how to purl stitch. The tutorial by Sheep & Stitch was extremely helpful.

After a few rows, I went back and practiced a few rows of knitting stitches to make sure I still remembered how. I am getting things confused as I go, but I seem to be doing okay. (I've got 2 sets of needles and 2 balls of yarn going, for the curious.)

While I had family in town, my niece and I put together the diy lava lamp kit her stepdad got her. That was fun.

I'm getting better at Instagram. I managed to put together a weekend recap in pictures.

I'm also very excited because the Halloween craft kits I ordered came in far quicker than expected.

I learned to purl with the Sheep & Stitch tutorial too! I've been using a lot of theirs, they're super helpful.
