Today's forecast was for thundery showers, but since they failed to materialise and it was actually dry, sunny, and warm, I managed to finish clearing around, under, and behind my little yew tree, and started work on getting the ivy out of that patch of hedge.

I was hampered at the start by a robin though. He was so bold I had to keep quite still so I wouldn't scare or harm him. He was less than a foot from my knees at one point (I was kneeling on my kneeling pad), and before that, when I was crawling around halfway under a yew branch, he was no more than 8 inches from my nose as he hopped about catching tiny insects. Robins are the bravest of British garden birds, but this one was fearless.

Too bad there was nobody to take a video. It must have been the cutest scene, ever.

The robin was totally adorable, I just hope it will be careful with all the cats around.

And your robins are such tiny guys, I'd worry about losing track of where he was too.

Amazingly camouflaged too. If you can't see the red breast, they just blend right in.
