Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Too bad there was nobody to take a video. It must have been the cutest scene, ever.

BK is being supervised by a robin
As she crawls about underneath the yew
He hops around a-watchin and a-bobbin
Wondering what's the next thing she will do

And your robins are such tiny guys, I'd worry about losing track of where he was too.

I was on kitchen duty today, so I took a break from crafting. Alas, my millionaire's slices turned out to be a total failure, but we'll eat them nonetheless. It's a good thing that I only made them for ourselves, not for any guests. I like my guests to get proper bakes, not such disasters.

They probably still taste good, even if not pretty or didn't set up quite right.

They weren't bad, but soggy shortbread isn't my idea of a well-made bake.

I think I need to find a different method to make caramel.

Another chunk of flowerbed renovation this morning. It's a big L shape with 5 roses, I have finished 3/5. It wore me out a bit more than the other day. I have a couple appointments this week and unfairly, regular chores, so probably won't get to continue for a few days at least.

Just finished the last kitchen scrubby in the set. I may select some thread for making holiday cards after supper.

Weeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllll there are three I've been thinking about.

Shooting star I saw last year just after the holidays. I really like it, but it has a lot more rows than I usually do for a card. I have a couple of other thread projects I'd like to get done this fall, so probably best for next year.

The swirly heart motif that I made recently - that would make a completely different card (I usually make snowflakes) and I already know I like it.

Granny square Christmas tree - quick and easy, I think I will do this and add a couple beads and buttons if the heart doesn't look good in thread.

Finished a slip dress I was going to wear under a 1920s style "one hour" dress:
1hour 1920s dress

The chiffon for the 1920s style dress:
1hour 1920s dress

It was too cold for the night that I planned to wear it, so I haven't finished the chiffon (yet).

That chiffon fabric is amazing. I'd never dare to work with it, out of fear that I'd ruin it. But again, unlike you, I'm not made for making clothing.
