Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Went back to battling the ivy again today, and made good progress. Apparently on the path under the ivy plant pots where whatever was growing in them has died, a crumbling bag of sand, and a couple of compost bags that I have no clue what's in them. More rubbish to clear *sigh* Still, I'm making progress with the ivy.

It's ivy, it creeps everywhere, I think that's its purpose in life *grins*

I've finished my Nativity scene felts, yay! Tomorrow there'll be a picture, and I can move on to the penguins!

Only 5 more penguins are planned. The sensible thing would be to stop with all this Christmassy stuff, but I have the nagging suspicion that I might end up making some little angels, too...

No sewing today and up way too late finally adding the Trotula Hair powder to my website and both blogs. I'll have to catch up with you all tomorrow as I need to grab a little sleep before work. I'm very happy with the photos and post though and even happier that the hair powder worked and I got heaps of usable photos.

I've just read your instructions on LJ - it's highly interesting, although I doubt I'd have the patience to actually make it myself. You're so versatile with this medieval stuff, I'm in constant awe of all the things you try out.

Time is one of the reasons I tried to buy lots of the bits and pieces for it. I could have distilled the rosewater myself and ground the spices myself from fresh or dried plants, but life is just too full. I'm feeling encouraged to try more of her recipes though.

Not enough sleep. It was a loooong day! I'm wanting to try more recipes now- that will tie into the Bath Project, so maybe a lip balm.

I didn't get enough sleep last night either and had to go out this morning.

Oooh, that sounds like a good idea. Beeswax comes to mind as a possible ingredient... Of course I have no idea what the old recipes would suggest.
