Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

When I got too hot, and tired of dodging big spiders, I retreated to the front of the house where it was shadier and battled the very overgrown hedge. It's not privet, it a mix of a shrub called lonicera nitida — a relative of honeysuckle, although it couldn't be less like its cousin — and two fuchsias, the lovely fuchsia magellanica which has been there for more than 60 years, and another hardy fuchsia that mum bought and put in which is totally unsuitable because it won't stop growing. The flowers are really pretty, but I keep thinking I'll have to get rid of it because it's taken over.
Gave myself a blister cutting hedge though, and it burst, so I'm wounded =(

Housework is cruel and unusual punishment.

Today (so far) I managed the following:
* Halfway through a large pumpkin. Well, larger than the tiny ones, anyway!
* On round 6 of a 14-round doily.
* Made noses and sewed together 2 gnome ornaments.
I've spent a lot of time the past few days attempting to decide on a pattern for some yarn I have. The yarn is Lion Brand Ferris Wheel in the Cotton Candy colorway, and I have two cakes of it.
Originally, I started a Simple Crescent Shawl with it. I've made this before and it's dead easy and quick, but the neck edge is rather tight so I started second guessing myself.
Then I started May I Borrow This Please, which I can probably do with one cake, so I can make two of them. But I was having issues knitting it - needle didn't want to go in the stitches, I don't know if it's because I had frogged the yarn or what.
So now I'm leaning back towards the crescent shawl. But I'm still unsure. I started looking at Baktus patterns yesterday but none jumped out at me as THE ONE. Input and suggestions welcome!

I think I like the crescent shawl best, it should look very pretty in the yarn you've got, but you're the one knitting it so you'd have a better idea of what will work best and what you'd most enjoy making.
Good luck with finishing the shawl you're already working on and deciding what to do with your other yarn.
