Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Had to go out again today, took a large pile of books to the charity shops so I had a browse and found two wooden Christmas stamps, and another stamp that's foam backed, plus a pack of pastel rainbow A4 size card. very pretty.

Got out in the garden and battled some more brambles, also managed to get some more rubbish out of the greenhouse and into the dustbin. Then started brushing off the first plant pots from the greenhouse. The bag they were in has fallen apart, but these pots weren't clean anyway, I must have just emptied them and shoved them in a bag. I'll probably wind up putting a pile in the driveway for people to help themselves if the want them.

It would be along the lines of identifying things in pictures, rather than having to make something, to give everyone a reasonable chance.

I'd be interested in a competition, so long as it wasn't too serious, or take up time when I really should be doing other things (I have quite enough ways of doing that anyway!)

All you'd have to do is look at some pictures and identify them, a nice, easy little game everyone can play.

I’m crocheting again. I am working on scarf right now, in time for colder weather in a lovely multicoloured yarn in olive green and purple. I also finished the last sunflower granny squares for my pillow project, and I have attached them together. I am going to buy some fabric tomorrow – so hopefully I will actually have a small decorative pillow soon.

What kind of competition?

Absolutely no work on the kontusz done but I have sewed a gore into the pink wool kirtle, over the last 2 days, so that's progress.

What kind of competition? We all do such different things here? I'd be interested in a competition without prizes, say, everyone make something with a common theme just for fun, maybe. I DO have a lot on my To Do List, so it depends.

Just a looking at pictures thing this time around. Get all the pictures right, win a prize. It's just a simple bit of fun, since we're all into different crafts I wanted something everyone could take part in.

Update: I did find the missing crochet hook yesterday. It was on my desk as expected but blending in with all the other junk on my desk. I really should clean said desk, haha. Also, Stitch Club today was nice, if quiet. I'm an introvert, and was sitting next to another introvert, so the two of us were happily crocheting quietly while the rest of the group chit-chatted. During the club I got done a kerchief. One of the reasons I love the pattern is because it IS quick, less than two hours and BOOM! DONE! It's also cute and pretty and fun to make.

In other news, I have startitis. I cast on for a simple crescent shawl yesterday using yarn that another Dreamwidth member sent to me (♥), and now I'm considering starting a small doily.

What I'll probably do though is some more quick stuff for the craft fair. I have a bookmark started, and I didn't do any snowflakes yesterday so I'd like to bang one out today.

Competition, you say? That sounds right up my alley!

I did a bit of crafting today, applying various sequins to the Three Kings felts: star, heart and flower shaped ones. All shinies are now firmly sewn on. I'm planning to work on the hangings next, and to stitch the front and back panels together. Then come the faces, which will be simply made with felt pen, and perhaps some minor decoration, and the project will be done.

I also started ordering my freshly bought sequins by colour. It is fussy work and will last days; weeks perhaps. But it's again something I can do in front of the telly, so, the time won't be entirely wasted.

Sorting the sequins does sound like it will save you frustration later. Especially if you are running low on a color.

Mostly housework & cooking today. I gave the dog a bath for the first time in over a month. She was very unhappy, I think she thought baths were a thing of the past.

I went to pull out some dishcloths & scrubbies to send with the baby present (they have also recently moved into a new house, so I thought I'd give them something for that), and there were no scrubbies. So I'm making a set of those today. After I make the NEXT baby gift I'll need to refresh my stockpile of such kitchen items.

I'm sure the recipients will be delighted with the extras. New baby, new home, and not able to find anything in the chaos, dishcloths and scrubbies will be very useful.

Your poor little dog just doesn't appreciate being nice and clean.

I was thinking I'd run the competition for a week, maybe two, so people get a chance. We're all over the world in different timezones, so one day wouldn't be long enough.

be warned, I am attempting to learn how to crochet again! I already knew how to do a chain, but spent probably an hour and a half trying to come to terms with the next part. I don't know why it's so hard for me to grasp it, but this person I follow on insta is doing a teachalong thing where you make an amigurumi whale, so...once more unto the breach, etc.
