Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

So glad it went well and it's over now!

There are worse hobbies. ;))

The juniper, the laurel and the mountain ash
Have all been despatched with a bit of panache
The garden is lighter
The outlook is brighter
The job is now finished with scarcely a crash

Glad it went smoothly! And I had no idea about laurel wood.

I'm glad it was a good day!

Made a fervent attempt to finish off the first skein tonight - it's probably got maybe two more rows in it, but my hand started hurting really badly so I couldn't quite manage it. Next time I pick it up, though!

That's excellent. And very satisfying to know you'll complete the first skein next time.

Be mindful of your hands. No need to cause lasting harm!
Saturday, July 30th, 2022 07:27 am (UTC)
Yes, I stopped when they started hurting!
Saturday, July 30th, 2022 01:34 am (UTC)
Go easy on the hand. I've hurt mine a couple times.

I am, promise!

I worked a tiny bit on the Three Kings felts, but not too much. My fingers are hurting; stitching through several layers of hard felt and double-sided tape are hard on the fingertips. But Christmas is in a comfortable distance, and I've already finished 30 of the 40 different felt ornaments, so I'm good. Unless I can't resist making some penguins, too, which is a distinct possibility. *g*

Goodness, 30 of 40 already!

These were the easy patterns. The Three Kings promise to be more complicated.

I'm taking small steps, since the big projects (the 3 quiet books) are already finished. Sometimes being slow is good.

I finished the baby blanket today, including weaving in the ends.

It's dad's birthday, I made a German chocolate cake. It's 3 thin layers. Of course the top layer crumbled as I was assembling! He still ate two pieces.

Well done on the baby blanket! A German chocolate cake is always a delight :D
