Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Less than a week to go before tree removal day, so I concentrated on the perennial geranium, brambles, and other stuff growing where there is supposed to be lawn at the bottom of the steps. Cleared all the big stuff, although it might grow back (still need to dig the area thoroughly to get roots out) but it can be walked across now. Also cleared some stuff on the steps to make them safer. Still things I should probably do out there, but the most urgent stuff is done. If the weather keeps me from doing anything else out there before Friday, I'm good.

There are still large areas of wilderness, but I'm making some progress. It all helps!

Thanks! It was hard work, a good 5 buckets full of weeds and plant, plus another one of brambles for the recycling bin, and a pile of bindweed, but the effort was worthwhile.

Thank you! Trying to get the last few bits sorted out as tree day approaches. Must remember to remove the rotary clothes line on the day, so they don't have to keep detouring around it.

At this point, I just want Friday to get here! I'll be so happy when the trees are gone. I love trees, but these two are a menace. One of them, the laurel, shouldn't even BE a tree. It used to be a nice little shrub. *sigh*

Made some more progress on the scarf today! I also made a lot of progress on non-crafty projects and feel very accomplished today.

The shepherds are done!

I was quite crafty today. Not only did I the heroic effort of sewing on the spine of the quiet book, I also finished the shepherds. Take a look:



The sheep aren't all of the same fabric because I mostly use scraps left over from the various quiet books for this project (with the exception of the back panels), but I don't think that would be a problem. They won't go to the same owner anyway.

Thanks. I'm particularly happy with the curly beards; who'd have thought that blanket stitch would work out so well?

Well done for your continued work on the binding, and yay for the shepherds and their sheep! I love that the sheep are different colours, always good to have some variety!

This is a great project for using up the scraps. The grey felt of the shepherd's cloak was originally the page base of one of the quiet books I recently made; the other one will serve as Joseph's cloak. ;))

Just a quick update before I bounce back into the garden. I've washed two more of the dresses from the festival, I unpicked the sleeves of the surcote, so that's finished, but the real big job is termites were found in my unit and I had to rip up the entire back deck and the three wooden planter boxes next to them, which has been a mammoth job. Yesterday, pavers arrived, so I carried them round the back and laid them where the deck was. The remaining garden beds are being cut in half and repositioned to cope with all the wet weather we have been having.

That's a huge job, but the pavers should be better than wood, at least you won't have termite trouble with those. Good luck with it all!

WOW! I love that you have a design wall so you move the pieces around until you have the project exactly how you want it. The browns and greens are going to look amazing.
