Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: Everyone keeping okay in the heat?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Don't I know the feeling! I'm always looking for something in the flat, and most of the time in the wrong place.

Glad you got some things done before it heated up too much!

I sat down to watch some telly and thought I might as well start stitching my little felt Santas together. After three episodes of the show (with cooking the lunch in the ad breaks) all 10 Santas were finished.

Here they are:

Are they cute or are they cute?

That was the first face I did and my pen slid just a little.

Do you want him for Christmas? He is flat and light, I can simply put him in an envelope and send you as a letter. No taxing that way.

Consider it done! I'm always glad when my little folk finds a good home. ;)

Thanks. They were fun to make, not to mention blessedly easy. The other patterns promise to be more work-heavy. But at least no Velcro is involved.

They are very cute!

I just finished section 3 of 5 on the shawl. Hoping to get the garter portion of section 4 done today. It should be doable because the rows get shorter so go faster as you knit. NOT looking forward to the subsequent stockinette portion, it's purl nearly 300 stitches ten times, ugh.

Wow! Well done!

a little more progress - this is as of last night, I've gotten more done today but haven't taken any pics.

Busy day yesterday. Finished painting a chest red and this morning I nailed on the new hasp and lock plate and now it looks like a whole new thing! I've packed up all the washed clothes fromt he festival although one or two are still soaking for mud removal.

Later tonight after work, I'm hoping to unpick the fake silk sleeves from one of my helpers outfits as it was only a temporary fake fix for her.

I need to do a big sort of fabric in my workroom, but have discovered termites in my back door frame, so I've alerted the agent, but it may mean that the little deck I built from pallets at the back porch will have to be dismantled along with some of the timber garden beds attached to it. Enormous garden reshuffle in my weekend, I think.

Bugs of any kind are such a nuisance! They get into every place they have no business to be and are so hard to get rid of!
