Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

There was a breeze today (still is) which helped take the edge of the heat, but I only spent an hour outside before coming in to wash the dishes — don't want to do that when it gets REALLY hot — then back out to fetch the laundry in and do some watering. Also put another bowl of water out where cats, foxes, hedgehogs, etc. can get a drink. Just went out for a wander since it's cooler than it was earlier and the bowl was empty. Turned out there was a crack in the bottom and the water had leaked out so I had to find something else. Hopefully this one won't leak. It's still about 30C out and only going to get hotter tomorrow.

Oh, I'm glad you weren't out too much in the heat, but yikes!

Thankfully it seldom gets so hot around here, but when it does I use my common sense. With two days of extreme heat ahead I'm planning on staying out of it as much as possible. There's no air conditioning here, but my house usually stays pretty cool downstairs, even in hot weather so I should we okay. Forecast for tomorrow is highs of 38C but feeling more like 41C. That's HOT!

Yep, it is! And it's coming over to us as well. I'm so not looking forward to it! Hopefully all that outrageously expensive insulating they did last summer will help with keeping out at least some of the heat.

Good luck with that! No one needs to be roasted inside their own home.

We have a couple of bowls out - one for drinking and one which is bigger which the birds use to bath in.

I attacked the Santa felts today. And I was victorious, too! 10 Santas are now all but finished. All I need to do is to sew on the hangings and stitch the front and back panels together. As I didn't have a template to them, I've created a very simple design that allowed me to glue on the small parts instead of sewing them on; since they aren't meant as gifts for small kids I could afford that. I also decided to use simple cotton wool for the beards that were then glued on, too. I think they'll look nice enough. A bit basic but nice.

You know what Murphy's Law states: If you have a difficult task, assign it to a lazy person. They'll find the simplest possible solution. *g*

Well, maybe you can do the binding in stages with a bit of more enjoyable felt work in between.

I wandered a bit outside a couple times today. Picked up trash that's blown into the yard with my grabber. Deadheaded the roses and chopped back the mint.

I'm doing half a row here and there on the baby blanket. I love these yarns.

Just be careful you don't overdo it. A bit of fresh is good for you though.

The blanket looks wonderful, such pretty yarn, and a lovely pattern.

I finished the binding! (over four hours of troubleshooting a go-live issue and figuring that while I was waiting I was better off using my hands to finish the binding rather than doomscrolling...
