Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

More pottering. Cut up the rest of the hedge that was cut off yesterday and cleared away the sticks, did a bit more trimming of hedge... Nothing too strenuous. I have a couple more days to work outside before the approaching heatwave hits, taking temperatures close to 100F, which is crazy for England. I'll probably stay inside those two days, but first I have laundry to get dry.

That's normal hot for us at this point of the summer, but many people have air conditioners. It is amazing for laundry though. I have rugs hanging out to dry right now. Consider airing your pillows on the line as well.

There's no air conditioning in most homes over here, so the heat will be a problem for a lot of people. We're just not used to it.

I want to get the laundry dry before it gets that hot, but I'll definitely consider airing my pillows.

Hot weather is good for drying the laundry. It has to be good for *something*, right? But avoiding strenuous work at such temperatures is the sensible thing to do.

That's why I want to get the laundry dry before the hottest day. I don't want to be dashing back and forth hanging clothes out in 100F heat

Yeah, Tuesday might feel like 107F, which is.... Yikes!

I did a great deal of crafting today. The Holy Family felts are now all taped together; both Joseph and the Baby Jesus have faces, and Joseph and Mary have their headbands. That's another 10 pieces I can put away for later sewing. I'm of two minds whether I should continue with Santa or the Three Kings. On the one hand, Santa is less work-heavy, but I have to figure out the design on my own since I don't have a template. On the other hand, the Three Kings have templates but they include a myriad tiny details. So... I still can't decide which one is worse. *g*

Really sounds like you're doing well getting all the pieces cut out and prepared!

I'm not even half-way into the basic preparations yet, so there's still a lot to do, but I'm happy about the parts that are done.

Maybe so, but you're still getting a lot of the preparing done. Don't belittle the progress you're making.

I came down with covid a week ago. Luckily, my doctor decided to put me on the antivirals, otherwise I think I would have been in a lot of trouble. Lost my sense of smell. This was far more disorienting than I expected. It is already started to come back a little bit. Mostly at this point it is a little coughing, a lot tired, and a lot of very sore muscles. I'm wearing one of those around-the-neck support pillows and that is helping me sit up.

I felt like working on the baby blanket a bit today. It's looking nice. I also decided on a gift for yet another cousin having a baby -- a large crochet basket. Someone else is making a blanket for her.

If you're managing to do a bit of crochet now you must be improving. Just try not to overdo anything.
