Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

More pottering outside. When my friend came over to do the shopping I got him to take the loppers to the thickest bits of hedge that I couldn't manage, so I've been stripping the 6 foot plus privet branches of leaves and side twigs. The woody twigs will be stacked and left to dry for use as kindling and firewood. The thickest ones are nearly an inch across.

The hedge is no longer growing through the conifer, so that's another step forwards.

Still got a pile of hedge to cut up, but only about a third of what there was when I started. Hopefully I can finish that tomorrow.

That sounds like excellent progress.

I think I'm almost ready for the tree removers. Just got to finish chopping up the hedge bits, move the twigs out of the way, and pull up a plant at the bottom of the steps. Better to just get rid of it than have it be trampled underfoot. It's in the way and I was going to pull it up months ago, but it was flowering so I left it for the bees.

I've got a stressful day, so not much happened in the creative area. I've cut out about a dozen faces for the Christmas felt project, but that was it, basically. Not even a crossword puzzle could be squeezed in-between the housewife-y activities. But I have high hopes for tomorrow.

I did a few more rows on the scarf but it's too hot to be knitting. Honestly since finishing the first editing pass on the novel I haven't been doing much at all except letting my brain recharge: watching movies, playing video games. Since messing up on the scarf I've been wary of doing anything while knitting, but I think I'm getting enough of a hang of it that I might pick it up if I watch another movie tomorrow. We shall see!

Even a few rows helps - and knitting is no fun when it's hot, so taking a break is fine. There'll be time to do more later.

Too true. Knitting is great for warming you up when you're cold, the repetitive movements get the blood circulating, but in hot weather it just makes you hotter, especially if there's a pile oh knitting draped across your lap >.<

Brains do need time for recharging. Good luck with knitting and movie-watching.

I bound off other last piece of my partner's robe that I've been working on! I still have to block them & seam them together. I'm excited to be finishing it. My partner is looking forward to it too despite the heat wave we're in. 😀

I have a cotton washcloth on the needles, to have something to knit on.

Yay! Sounds like it won't be too long now! Putting the pieces together is always the most tedious part, hope it goes smoothly!

Home from the medieval festival and here's a link to a photo of a knight wearing three of the things I was working on the last weeks- the blue wool mantle, the silver circlet and the shield I painted. It looked really colourful on the field. A slew of posts and a few photos to come. On Sunday I'm off to do an advanced manuscript illumination course and I'm pretty excited about that!

It was quite wet underfoot but sunny for the entire weekend!

Good that the weather was kind to you, but I bet there were a lot of muddy hems!
