Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

Not having a great day, stress and anxiety getting me down, but I did potter in the garden for a bit, trying to get the massively overgrown hedge out of the conifer.

The tree guys are booked for the 29th, so it won't be much longer before conifer and laurel are gone. Yay.

Sorry to hear about the stress and anxiety. Have you melted yet, or have you taken up residence in the fridge?

My house is staying cooler than outside and today hasn't been as hot anyway, so I'm doing okay in that respect so far.

How about you?

I worked a bit on the Christmas felts: cutting up more little details and fixing them to the bases with double-sided tape. The shepherd and his sheep are now practically complete, with faces and a staff and a bandana and all. Ready to be sewn together, whenever I might find the time (although I won't start on them before the quiet book is finished). I also taped Mary and the Baby Jesus to Joseph's cloak and cut out the bases for Santa and the Three Kings. So, I made good progress, but all that's still just a drop in the ocean. Fortunately, I've got enough time till Christmas. (Or so I think. In reality, there is never enough time, but let's take on a positive attitude, shall we?)

Too true, Christmas always sneaks up when you're not looking. o_O

I like to start early because I can't take stress as well as I did when I was a shiny new model. ;)
Of course, starting early means that I finish early and then can't resist a brand new project or three, and then I'm under pressure again...

The older we get, the better we are at putting ourselves under pressure =(

It all sounds to be going very well.

I'm trying to get as much of the preparations done as I can because that's the easy part. Sewing everything together will take a long time - we are speaking of at least 40 little scenes here, full of detail. 50 if I manage to figure out how to make the angels. And there will be the full stable scene made of felt, too. So yeah, preparation is important and needs to be done ASAP. The rest will follow piece by piece in the next six months or so.

I may have ordered myself another cross stitch kit, because I haven't actually got anything for this time next year... It's a copy of Klimt's The Kiss which I've been promising myself I'd get one day, and the kit was the cheapest I'd seen it for sale. I also ordered two small cute kits (sloth and owl). I justified it by saying I had a voucher for free posting.

Klimt is an incredible painter. I once visited the exposition of his works in Schloß Belvedere in Vienna; it was a unique experience. I wish you fun with the cross stitched Kiss. :)

It's good to get the kits you want when they're at a low price, and free postage has to be taken advantage of *nods*
