Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

It's been a very blustery day today, so no climbing of stepladders. It wouldn't have been safe. It was a bit unnerving hearing the laurel creaking against the greenhouse.

I got on with trying to cut back the rose, cut and pulled down 4 or 5 massive branches and chopped them up small to get more in the garden waste bin, but looking out my window there still seems to be just as much rose draped over the conifer. Eventually my hard work will start making a visible difference, but that day has yet to come. There is a LOT of rose to cut down.

It must be frustrating, working so hard and not seeing any results. *hugs*

A bit. I mean, I KNOW I'm making a difference, but sometimes it takes a while before it's clearly visible, especially when there's so much to clear away.

I've finished the central motif of the umbrella page. It was a rather complicated piece of work, as I didn't get the required 6mm wooden beads and had to do with 8mm ones. Getting the waxed cords safely fixed wasn't an easy thing, either. I *almost* became nostalgic after Velcro. *Almost*. But the hard part is done now. All I still have to sew on are a few raindrops and three clouds.

You're doing great! Sometimes you just have to make do with what's available, but hopefully the bigger beads will be fine.

It's easy to think fondly of velcro when you're not struggling to sew through it!

Finished the last purple stripe of niece's blanket! Just one white stripe and the border left and I am DONE!

I went ahead and ordered yarn for nephew #3's blanket. Love Crafts was having a sale, so that helped. Still set me back a little more than I wanted, but that couldn't be helped because it was taxes and shipping. The pattern I have chosen is the Nordic Stripes Blanket and I'm using similar colors but Stylecraft Special Aran rather than Red Heart Heat Wave. Thankfully, my nephew is only going to be a junior so I'll have two years to work on this one, but I wanted to get started because I also have a niece the same age as him, so I'll be doing TWO blankets! The things I do for love...

Oooh, that's a gorgeous blanket! Good luck with getting that and the other niece's blanket finished over the next two years!

I hope your nieces and nephews all appreciate your efforts. Those blankets are really great graduation gifts, something that will provide comfort when they're off to uni.
