Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

The day looked dreary first thing, but it brightened up this afternoon so I spent a couple of hours outside, still cutting back the conifer, rambling rose, honeysuckle, and winter flowering jasmine that has gone berserk. Trouble is, I think I'm going to need to break out the stepladder. Everything is so high up and I've got to get it all out of the conifer =/

Is that because the stepladder is tangled up by the rambling rose, honeysuckle etc? Poor thing, waiting to be released!

LOL! No, it's up by the shed, thankfully not tangled in anything, but I'm not relishing lugging it down the garden, trying to get it to balance on uneven ground, and then climbing it to cut away branches overhead with a saw... That was hard enough 2 or 3 years ago, and I had the trunk of the other conifer to help me balance. This time there's nothing.

*shudders* Ladders has been the bane of my existence ever since I got old and started being afraid of heights. You have my sympathy.

I've been scared of heights since I was about 6 or 7, so that makes it even more fun. Not.

Thanks! I think this is the hardest part - aside from moving the logs, which were REALLY heavy - mostly because it's all so tangled, not to mention spiky.

I'm very slowly knitting the waves at the bottom of mini Hobbit's cardi - the last two colours are similar and I discovered I'd made a mistake - it's hard to tell with individual stitches, but it will show up if I go wrong.

Sounds like a very complicated pattern, or is it just the colours?

It's the colours - I devised the pattern so it's not written down, but basically it's straightforward - so long as I can see which yarn is which (it was easier with the deeper blues as there was a good contrast with them).

Eeep! That sounds tricky. Knit in good light.

It would help, but once I realised I'd gone wrong I didn't want to leave redoing it until tomorrow that just felt like being defeated!

I had chores upon chores today and therefore very little crafting time. But I have re-done the sea crab and the jellyfish I had butchered last time, so I'm content.

It is. It has been bothering me ever since that the page was unfinished.

It is a relief getting them out of my hair. Now I can turn my attention to the seaming of the mermaid page.

Actually, my hair is so short and thin that they would just fall out of it anyway. ;)
