Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

It is quite hot over here at the moment, so we didn't do much today. We were mostly vegetating in front of the telly, but that's a good thing, as I can sew best when the telly is running in the background, so I finished seaming the previously botched-up deep sea page. That means half the book is done. I've a vague idea about the design of the back cover, and I think I'll make the umbrella page for counting activity, which means there's only one page left - the one with the lacing activity - for which I still need an idea. I'm content with my progress.

Sounds like the book is coming along well! Vegging in front of the TV is a good way of spending very hot days. It's still quite cool here, so I'm wishing it was warmer.

Yep, temperatures are never evenly distributed, which is a crying shame.

Except when I'm visiting the realm. Every time I was there it was hot and dry. I got my second-worst sunburn ever in London. *g*

Down south does tend to be warmer than where I am. I got my worst sunburn ever in Wales though.

Today has been windy and mostly overcast but dry, so I took the opportunity to finish clearing the path, including the last section alongside the greenhouse. Too me nearly 3 hours >.<

The bit outside the greenhouse was matted with roots, so that was a bit of a wrestling match, but the real problem was the lower path. I tried using the spade like I did on the rest of the path, but the soil had set like cement. I had to chip it away with a hand trowel and fork, but I got the path and the step clear, for the first time in years. YAY!

Next step is to deal with the mess where the logs were left over winter. Technically it's part of the lawn, but there's not much grass there, just some ivy, a few weeds, a lot of wood chips, and twigs, plus some long grass where the lawnmower couldn't reach because of the logs. Part of the patch I hope to turn into a flower bed with some stepping stones across it, but not until the conifer and the laurel have gone. That will let some light through.

The good thing with gardening is any progress is noticeable! Well done!

My garden is so overgrown that a lot of the time progress isn't noticeable at all, but what I've been doing this week really shows. Except I can't see it from the house because it's behind the garden shed =(

Sewing some silk flags to go onto the guard's poles. The silk is so fussy that it's easier for me to sew them by hand but it's just taking longer.

Silk is so... silky I imagine it wouldn't be the easiest thing to sew.

Normally I love working with silk, but this is a different silk and it's very slippery.
