Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Glad that's done! It rained half the morning, though it wasn't supposed to, and everything is still sopping wet. Maybe tomorrow for me too.

The rain was peeping out from behind a cloud to spot you when you came out!

There is always tomorrow. A good thing that you got the chimney swept and everything else tested. Safety is important.

Oh, good. Didn't you have heating problems last winter? I am glad the chimney is in working order!

I've been working on the baby blanket, finished the first skein at just over 19" across. Not planning to do much else today.

That's growing really well.

And I got to talk to the mail carrier supervisor, emailed him the photo of where we want to move the mailbox, it is approved.

I think that's good progress for one day.

Baby, baby! :)

Today, I got a lot of sewing done. The Big Fish Choir now only lacks one member, which I'm gonna make tomorrow, and then there will be a group photo.

I've also made good progress on the "match-the-colour" page. All 6 felt tea cups have now their decorative garlands sewn on, 3 of them have their Velcro pieces attached, and I've finished the page base, too. Lots of Velcro work are waiting for me still - the dratted things work in pairs only, so that means 9 more pieces (oh, my poor fingers), but the design itself is endearingly easy.

Not the original one, mind you. But I decied that the tutorial demanded too much unnecessary work and basically simplified the whole process. My version will be definitely more rustic but still pretty enough, I think, and I doubt that a two-year-old would really care.

These self-adhesive Velcro dots are a real pain in the backside. I have to sew through the glue layer as well as the Velcro itself, but I don't dare to rely on the glue alone when it goes to a toddler.

That is a ton of sewing done!

It is! I'm pleased with my progress, even though I dread the Velcro job still waiting for me.

Wow! Lots of sewing, and yes, it may look genuinely rustic after the 2-year-old is through with it!

Oh, I don't think she will ruin it! These books can take a lot, actually, and I tend to double-sew everything, just to be on the safe side.

I've instituted daily Arts & Craft hour for my sons (ages 7 and 11) for the summer break. Today we did crepe paper flowers.

I've done 2 cards and more collage pages on my journal.

Thank you! They seem to be getting into it. Sometimes they draw comic book pages. But one had a bookmark project, too.

Wow! You've been crafty! It's a good idea to start with kids at an early age. It's been my experience that the younger they are the more willing they show themselves to do something with their hands. I mean something else than playing on their phones.

Thanks! Yeah, they aren't crazy about it but once you set it as an expectation, they sort of get into it.

Worked on tent things, pinned some blue, silk flags and took photos of a lady in the surcote. Last night I did a little more paining on the box but I regret putting a border on it and now it needs to be fixed. Still trying to catch up with blog posts.

She does, doesn't she? All that crafting is a full-time job in itself!
