It's a dismally rainy day, but I did get outside this morning before it really started raining and cleared the rest of the leaves off the last stretch of path. Filled two big buckets with them. All that's left to do on that bit of the path now is to clear the soil and roots, and deal with some ivy and a bramble. Then my next task will be to clear access to the juniper than I want removing. At the moment it's almost inaccessible.

I was mostly baking today, in advance for my (ex-)colleagues descending on us on Monday... or so I hope. But 've also made some modest progress with the fishes. They all have their scales now and 5 of them are waiting for their eyes to be applied tomorrow.

One of my work colleagues decided to start their maternity leave a week early, so I didn't have time to crochet the baby cardigan I had planned. I only had a day, so I made a little baby hat with little ears from some super soft baby yarn I had left over from a previous baby cardigan

Didn't use a pattern, just worked increases in the round until I got the diameter I wanted (about 5 inches) and then added rows until I reached a good length/height, and finished with a row of slip stitches. For the ears I also did increase rows, but turning at the end instead of joining. And then I just sewed them either side of the hat once they were done.



Baby was born on Thursday morning and the pictures are very cute.

Roughly doubled the length of the scarf today (it wasn't yet very long to begin with) and got very little else done - brain is bad and I think actually digging into edits might've helped, so that's my plan for tomorrow.

Messed around with mulching in the flowerbed, also some weeding. Good news, I think I've found a few daisies! Unless these are weeds. Ha. I'd given up, but we had such a weird cold spring maybe they just took extra long. The marigolds are looking big and healthy everywhere I've sprinkled them, will definitely get those again.

Have done a couple rows on the baby blanket. Maybe pattern 4 is the one. I love the yarn though.

I've done quite a bit of cross stitch the last few days - my main project is progressing well, and I'm now stitching a birthday card for The Daughter. Which means very little knitting has been done. I have, however, just finished the next square (no 23) for my throw. This one is called Beijing.
