Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I've done that exact thing with eggs before, too. Also left my lunch in the microwave for five hours after forgetting I'd reheated something and made myself something entirely else for lunch.

I think we all have done such things. *pats you*

I can't say I've ever done it with eggs but other foodstuffs most definitely (toasting one side of the bread to make cheese on toast is a particularly sore point as I haven't even learnt the lesson of having done it once.. twice ... three times - you get the drift. I'm sure there's some evil demon lurking under the grill so that once I've checked it and it needs longer it then gives a sudden blast of 'burn everything now' so that the next thing is smoke billowing out of the grill and it doesn't have anything to do with me thinking 'oh there'll be just enough time to ...'

many, many dumb things, I promise you. :)

A few more rows on the scarf! Also did a good chunk of editing today which I'm pleased with :D
Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 08:21 pm (UTC)
Go you!
Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 06:24 am (UTC)
Me too! Editing is when it starts to feel like I've done something good :D
Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 10:52 pm (UTC)
Well done on all your achievements.
Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 11:17 pm (UTC)
yay to both!

I'm really pissed! For some reason AO3 decided to hide one of my stories that has been up there for 3 years, no reason given. (It's Torchwoodgate, BTW). Now I'm at a loss what to do about it, aside from contacting Support and Abuse. *sigh*

As for crafting, I've started two new Big Fish(TM), a dark blue and a very dark pink, almost purple one. The latter is half-finished and already looks good, the former had his bright orange scales sewn on - that one is gonna be a neon fish, for sure, but I don't mind.

That is super frustrating about Ao3!

It is! But it turns out that I've made a serious mistake and they were within their rights, so I'll have to do some massive rewriting.

Oh no! Hopefully it all works out
Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 05:00 pm (UTC)
You mean eye-watering, right? *g*
Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 10:53 pm (UTC)
Sorry to hear about the trials of AO3 but well done on the Big Fish progress.
Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 05:02 pm (UTC)
Thanks. Since, it turns out, I was the one who made a mistake, so I can't really blame them.
Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 06:26 am (UTC)
I hope you're able to sort things out with Ao3.

I love the sound of the new Big Fish!

Well, it seems that it was my fault, so I hope that correcting it will set things right.

Did some spiritual work yesterday which was good. I went home from work early because of burnout. I needed a mental health day.

Going to maybe get some stitching done tonight, depending on how I feel. Because I also want to get stoned (legal in Canada) and play Pokemon lol

I feel like a lot of industries (mine especially, trucking) doesn't take that stuff seriously. Burnout is dangerous
Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 10:55 pm (UTC)
I hope you get to relax and glad you are able to take some time from work.
Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 12:21 pm (UTC)
It was great!
Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 11:17 pm (UTC)
I support your mental health day, omg
Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 12:21 pm (UTC)
Honestly I think everyone deserves one mental health day, at minimum, a month. Where you can just fuck right off and relax.
Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 06:26 am (UTC)
I hope your mental health day is restorative!

It was great! I felt very revitalizated on Monday

Last night I did some cross-stitch but tonight by the time I sat down I was running out of time to finish my book (I wanted to finish the one I was reading which was about Medusa and Perseus, before going onto my next audio book which is about Achilles - I didn't want to be getting confused!).
Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 06:26 am (UTC)
Ooh I like the sound of the books you're reading!
Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 11:19 pm (UTC)
I finished a new project last night! It just needs the backing on the hoop and then it can wing its way to its recipient, who is excited to get it, and that makes me happy.

unfortunately I seem to have overdone it, crafting-wise, this week, and my hands, wrists, and elbows are all objecting every time I go near a needle. very frustrating.

The embroidery looks amazing! I hope you feel better soon.
