Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

A warmer day, partly sunny, and I was hoping to get out in the garden but I've been feeling too crappy. I did do a bit of tidying indoors though, so I've achieved something,

I've begun knitting this scarf, potentially for my husband but also I'm not sure I like this wool so maybe just for learning, lol.

Yeah! I have to pay attention to it more than I have previous projects but that's probably a good thing XD

Looks like a nice pattern. What's wrong with your wool? The colour or the texture?

I don't think I like the texture but I'm reserving final judgment until I have a little more completed scarf to judge from.

Oh, I see. Texture is indeed very important for a piece of clothing, especially if it touches the skin directly.

That looks like a snuggly one! Even if you don't like the wool much the scarf can still be useful, and it's all practice.

Having a particularly shitty day at work. I was planning on doing some spiritual work later on but we'll see how I feel once I get home and some dinner. I might need creative stabbery (cross stitch)

I'm planning to devote Sunday to crafting. Tomorrow I'm getting my hair cut for the first time since I shaved it all a little over a year ago.

Crafting can be very therapeutic after a crappy day. You'll do whatever suits your mood best. Hopefully you'll get to enjoy crafting on Sunday.

Did another small chunk of weeding. John saw me working and pointed out a couple flowers that have come up volunteer (a couple native four o'clock-ish plants and a black eyed susan) so at least I have those, even if most of my own didn't. I planted a few nasturtiums from a pot out in the spots I have weeded so far.

A little crafting with kitchen cotton scraps and even played a little Stardew today.

Kitchen cotton scraps? What are those and what can you do with them?

Whoops. I'm making little mineral catchers for the humidifier with leftover cotton from making dishcloths. Which I did not *remotely* type. :D

Great garden progress! I like nasturtiums, they're very tasty. They do best in poor soil for some reason I'm not clear on.

Again, I didn't have a lot of crafting time today, so I gave the quiet book a break and worked a bit on the fish ornament that was originally planned as the central motif of the deep sea page but proved too big. I'm quite pleased with the design and the colours that I've chosen - I hope the end results will be equally pleasing. Currently I'm trying to figure out how to make it open and close its mouth with the help of press studs that would also serve as its teeth.

Thanks. Making the small parts of leftover felt scraps is a bit problematic sometimes, as they rarely have the same thickness... or colour. ;)

It is done, and I am very happy with the results. Will post a pic with the next check-in. I foresee more fish like this one in my future... in various sizes and colours.

Worked on my secret project today. It's a knitting project, and I will say it involves BOX PLEATS which are terrible horrible things to knit. I had to do way too many of them, and it took me a month and a half to get the round done. But it's done now, I've knitted a bit more on the project, and it's looking pretty good. Not as crisp as I would like but I am fussy, hah. It will serve the purposes for what I'm doing, though!

Kudos for tackling something so complicated! Box pleats look really effective though. Well done, sounds like you're making great progress!
