It's a bit less cold out, but today's been rainy so I stayed indoors. After yesterday's wrestling match with the storage rack my arms feel like they've been pulled from their sockets so I couldn't have managed any gardening anyway. I did do a bit of tidying up though.

I had very little time today, but I squeezed a tiny bit of crafting into the morning. So, the deep sea page now has a snail house and a starfish, both removable and reattachable with the help of press studs, the latter decorated with tiny pearls. On a day like this, I consider that a success.

Oh yes, you had pipes being done didn't you? Well done for fitting in some crafting.

It was such a wasted day otherwise, I needed to do something that gave me the feeling of accomplishment... other than cleaning up the mess of the working guys oh, about six times or so.

Things seem to be working just fine; let's hope they'll continue doing so. *fingers crossed*

Weeds are taking over the flower bed in the little strip next to the street. I seem to have gotten marigolds to come up but that might be it, other than the lilies planted last year. My new plan is to start some of the mints I have in that area - it's totally enclosed. They can cover the flowerbed and then I'll dig out spots I want to plant other things in next year.

I am working on using up kitchen cotton scraps a bit, palate cleanser before I start another big project.

Weeds always thrive, usually at the expense of plants. Yay marigolds though! At least you've got something growing! Mint makes for great ground cover, as I'm sure you're aware *grins*

I wish I'd thought of it sooner! I've made some little starter pots up, once they root decently I'll go plant them.

Thyme is another one good for ground cover. I used to have some growing between the slabs of a path.

Weeds do always seem to grow quicker and more healthily than what we plant :) I was chatting with someone the other day and they had just been told to plant marigolds between their vegetables as I think it decreases the amount/type of bugs that will attack the growing veggies.

Yes! I meant to plant mine between the roses, but then we needed to do work on the porch. The rose beds are around that, so no extra things planted in it.
