Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Feeling rather under the weather at present so it's been another day of writing, playing card games, and reading fanfic. I don't have the energy for anything more strenuous.

I've finally finished the front page of the new quiet book; the one with the hot air balloon motif. I think it ended up just a tad too candy-coloured (=mildly kitschy), so I think I'll call the book "the Candy Princess". And if people find it to be too much on the candy-coloured side, I'll pretend that it was fully intended so. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! *g*

Oh, I'm still far from having finished the entire book! But two out of eight pages are done, and they are fairly candy-coloured indeed. *g*

Tomorrow I'll start designing the birthday cake page, which is supposed to be stitched to the front page. *fingers crossed*

Candy-coloured is eye-catching and appealing for young children so I'm sure it will be perfect.

Still, there can be too much of the candy colours, so I need to be careful with the colour concept.

Yesterday I really worked on the afghan a lot, and now I'm down to TWO rows remaining. Which means I finished off the green. Final two are the linen (beige), and almost mindless because I just fill in the final missing stitches in the mosaic. No counting. I've also removed most of the stitch counters.

Here's a photo from nearly a couple weeks ago of John's back yard - this is why I can smell roses through my open windows. There's heavier bloom on now, I'm sure.

Lovely! I live in a ten-storey concrete monstrosity, but there are some lilac bushes under our window, and they smell so nicely in the evening!

It's been another tough kind of day. Work was tough. I don't think I'll stitch tonight, but I am working on developing a Sims game challenge, mostly for me and my friends.

Some days are just not stitching days. Good luck creating your challenge! That should take your mind off other things.

Thank you! I did manage to get my sims challenge written out (it is on my journal but my journal is friends only. But we're a friendly bunch so I mean feel free lol)

I'm planning on testing it today.

ah, game event planning. Does this include mods? I mod Stardew heavily but never play with others.

I have a couple mods. MCCC is pretty much needed to make the game work, and I have a couple of mods to make university more realistic.

I've never modded Stardew, but I also predominantly play on Switch now so I can't lol

So even with the days off work, I still didn't get as much done as I hoped (did nap some! continuing with my general course of action when I'm not actually working - wasn't helped by really bad hayfever attack on Thursday and a milder one yesterday).

I did get a bit more work on the mini cross-stitch - have managed to finish it this morning, so there may be a photo later - it's definitely too small for the cards I've got. It's a nice enough design although quite light in colour - a bit washed out and very hard to find some of the bits where I needed to do single stitches in a different colour.

I think I will check out the cards and then possibly try to double the next design I try.

Hay fever sucks. I take antihistamines year round for allergies, but hay fever season still affects me. Hope you're feeling better.

Ooof hayfever is bad this time of year. In fact I don't think I've seen any pollen reports that weren't "very high" thus year. I can't take antihistamines so it's brutal.
