Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I almost fell asleep over my crossword puzzle today, so I can relate. ;)

We had sufficient sunshine to dry the washing today (hooray!)

The foxgloves are showing their flowers
The purple blooms and the white
BK is expecting some showers
And wishes the day could be bright

It seems I was being overly optimistic when I thought I'd finish the front page today. It proved to be a much more finicky design than expected. But at least I *have* finished the central motif - that is, the hot air balloon itself - and it looks... acceptable. There are still the sliding clouds to do, but I'll leave those for another day.

Even a small amount of progress counts - especially when something is fiddly.

True. These are the projects you think will be done in no time - several days later, you're still doing them. *sigh*

That's right, although I'm greatly relieved now, a day later, that I've finally beaten them into obedience. *g*

I was hoping I'd feel up to getting started on June's dinosaur stitch a long pages but I'm having a bit of an insecurity attack so I have a feeling I'm going to sit in the dark and try to write instead.

Its election day where I am and it's going to be bad, so I think that is affecting my mood. It's also Star Trek Strange New Worlds day and that might be too.

It's hard to concentrate when waiting for news, especially when it's likely not to be good. I like the idea of a dinosaur stitchalong.

It's a dinosaur alphabet, so it's great. May was a really busy month for me(stepbrother got married) and of course it had three dinos. I finished it on May 31 lol. Maybe I just need a break.

June only has two, thankfully.

That sounds splendid. Finishing on the last day of the month still counts, especially when there are three dinos and you had a wedding. You've got time for a break before stitching this month's two.

It's SO GOOD. I love it

I'm hoping Q is my favorite, the Quetzalcoatlus

What's your current favorite?

I wrote a couple thousand words of fic longhand while I didn't have access to my computer, so I'm getting those written up!

and I was inspired by all the cool folks I saw at the MCR gig last weekend, so I spent part of my afternoon altering one of my tshirts until I was happier with the fit

That's awesome
Friday, June 3rd, 2022 05:28 pm (UTC)
Thank you!

I've done some small alterations like turning up hems, but never anything that involved getting the fabric scissors out - I'm so pleased with how it turned out.

The best way to learn how to do something is to just do it, I guess!
Friday, June 3rd, 2022 05:47 pm (UTC)
That's fair! tbh the reason I started with this shirt is I have other MCR shirts and I decided it was a sacrifice it was willing to make ;)

Sewed the first round of four wonky log cabin blocks towards entering a quilt into the Sydney Quilt Show... We'll see how it turns out...
