Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

The weather remains miserable, it's been pouring with rain again, and I'm still cold, but...

My old laptop is working again, thanks to my friend. I've installed two of the games I want on it, and I spent half the afternoon playing Chuzzles. Yes, I should have doing other things, but I didn't want to. I had fun instead =)

We haven't had rain, although it threatened a couple of times. Sunday I'm away on Brownie pack holiday (just for the day) so I would like the weather to be good!

Oh, I really hope you get better weather than the 11C temperatures forecast where I live!

I haven't played in years, and the Chuzzles are so cute and entertaining. Whoever invented the game was a genius, lol!

Aw! Chuzzles! I loved that game, but so vexing sometimes when they're locked.

I've tried so hard to figure out why some get locked, but if there's a pattern to it, I don't see it. I'll make several moves, one chuzzle gets locked, I make several more moves, and then three more get locked! It's quite stressful trying to 'free' the locked ones when the number of movable columns and rows get fewer and fewer all the time. I love it though. There are advantages to having an old Windows XP computer, I get to put all my old favourite games on it, and some I haven't tried yet!

It's simple, just click and drag, which is about my limit, lol! I enjoy it for mindless fun. But then I feel guilty if I click wrong and make a Chuzzle squeak, and sometimes they glare at me, lol! I got one with fancy sunglasses last night *grins*

Today I went to Dare to Dabble and this month's craft was hammered flowers - I shall aim to put a post up about it tomorrow.

There is a degree of violence implied in the name that doesn't quite go with the thought of flowers, so I am very curious to see your post.

Hard to believe, but I've actually finished the twin quiet books today! That was faster than expected! *is relieved*

At the same time I also realized that I forgot to take pictures of the castle puzzle pages - which I now did as an afterthought. Of course, since the books are already bound, the pages look a bit lopsided on the photos, but better crooked than not at all, right?

Behold the pretties! Beni's page is on the left and Ábel's on the right:



The castles themselves as well as the sky ought to be the same colour on both pictures, but it seems the light fell differently. Oh, and the pages are exactly the same size, too, I'm just a rubbish photographer. *sigh*

Anyway, I'm done now and can start planning the book for my friend's third granddaughter who'll also turn 2 soon, a week or two after the two boys.

I was looking at the leftover black yarn I have and thought, "I bet I can make two placemats out of that." So I've started knitting myself a little rectangle. It may or may not end up a placemat (I think I was overly optimistic about how much I can get out of this) but the main thing is I need something to do with my hands so I'm not doomscrolling Twitter, and for that purpose it's completely suitable.

Excellent idea! Even if it doesn't work as a placemat I'm sure you'll find a use. Maybe you could make a blanket of squares or rectangles from the leftover bits of all your other projects if the placemat idea doesn't work out.

I was thinking about the blanket! I'm not sure the leftovers I currently have will make a coherent blanket which was the only reason I didn't aim for it but it may end up there anyway. We shall see!

It's quite exciting, it could evolve into anything! A cushion cover, a lap blanket... there are lots of possibilities!

Oven mittens would also work. I constantly ruin mine, so I might have to learn to knit to make new ones.

I don't find knitting is insulating enough for over mitts, the yarn would scorch, and if it's acrylic, there'd be a risk of it melting. A good thick fabric is safer.

I have to wait for some additional floss to get here for yesterday's project - which is fine, as you may recall it was irritating me anyway, ha - so I started a new project, this embroidery pattern, and I'm making pretty good progress so far! I had a few hours to do nothing but stitch. I genuinely don't know how it's going to turn out, it's all highly experiemental, but I'm hoping backstitch will give it more...something.

You've made a good start on the project so far and it will be interesting to see the final outcome - hopefully you will be pleased with it.

Wow, you're doing really well with it! I'm useless at satin stitch, I always pull too tight.

As of last night the tree trunk itself is completed, Tigger is completely outlined and the sign is about 2/3 done. Still to do, three bits of greenery around the tree trunk, the rest of the sign, outlining of remaining bits and lettering.
