Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Another day of doing very little. More writing, more sorting files, a spot of playing old computer games... Next on the agenda will be reading fanfic. I got halfway through one last night so I'm hoping to get through a couple more chapters tonight. I'm a slow reader. I'd be happier if I could just get my feet warm...

How much longer is your cold snap? It wasn't as bad this afternoon here but was quite cold overnight.

Not sure, at least another week I think. It's not so bad outside although 9 C at night just seems cruel, but my house tends to hold the cold in better than the heat and opening windows seems to make it colder even when it's warmer outside than in. I can't win. Good thing I have plenty of arm warmers. I'm heading for bed soon, it's warmer in there.

I have a ton of socks, but even wearing three pairs my feet are still cold. I always have problems with cold feet.

According to the forecast, temperatures are set to drop even further *sigh* 13C...

I only had an hour last night so three mire chapters read, two to go.

I might have to resort to a hot water bottle if it gets much colder.

The yarn I was waiting on appeared. DHL had indeed handed it to the post office. I finished a row on the afghan.

I felt okay this morning, but have clearly caught husband's flu. I put on jammies and got in bed a bit ago. The dog approves.

I forgot to check in yesterday - too many chores, and then I was too tired afterwards. But I've made progress in these two days. Book #1 is all but done, I only need to stitch along one side of the spine and fasten the clasp with which to close it. Book #2 has half the spine sewn on; I'll continue with the binding of the pages tomorrow. If everything goes well, I'll finish them both this week. *fingers crossed*

Of course, this makes me think that I ought to make one for Elise's third granddaughter who'll have her birthday just a couple of weeks after the boys. Theoretically, I should be able to do it until the beginning of October - and making a very different, very girl-ish book would be fun.

Sounds like you're making excellent progress. Might be fun to just do a single one with some different themes - I shall wish you luck in making your decisions.

Sounds like the books are coming along well, although I'm sure you'll be glad to have them done.

And you're already planning another? Oh my!

I have to admit, as a girl who was never girly, I would have preferred the boys' version. Octopusses and bees and Eeyore, and the circus... so much fun!

I am thinking of match-the-colour with teacups, domino stones with increasing numbers of dots and the likes. Not another doll house. It is the colours that might be more girly... or not. ;)

That is the thought motivating me right now. Aaand the fact that there are lots of pretty patterns I haven't tried yet. *g*

More cross-stitch progress, the lower bank and grass on top is done, Piglet is complete including all outlining and three flies are done. All that's left now is the higher bank and sign saying 'Rabbit's Howse' and then the caption and more outlining. If I can get another few good days of work in I might be able to finish it in a week or so.

Doing a bit of a panic because the festival is all of 6 weeks away. I'm making some adjustments to my tent, but I have all the bits and pieces for it now. Lots of sewing small, brass rings on and hooks to hook into them to do. About 40? I may be able to get away with 20, so I'll see.

The bright blue mantle just needs the cloak brooches sewn on now and the cord threaded through.

Yay for the mantle being almost finished, and good luck with the tent adjustments! 6 weeks flies by really fast, but you can do it!
