Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Sounds like good progress. Do you have garden waste collection? That would be amazing!
Thursday, May 19th, 2022 10:09 pm (UTC)
That sounds great. Maybe we'll have that some day. We have special yard waste pickup days but I always seem to have missed it.

I'd love it if they could add something like that to our recycling collection - we get plastic, cans, card/paper and glass collected once a month and I thought that was doing well (not everywhere here has those collected).

Brambles might root in the compost and take over that area too!
Friday, May 20th, 2022 02:00 am (UTC)
hooray for clearing brambles!

About a round and a half on the afghan border. I also washed the last bit of the winter linens, so instead of a big pile of dirty, I now have a clean pile. I will put them away soon.

The dark pink peonies are just about to bloom.

The best part of washing is when you are done. ;)

Indeed, I have finished just in time for regular sheet changing tomorrow.

The seaming is finished. I've put up a few pictures to my personal journal of the octopus and matc-the-shape pages. :)

The colour concept mirrors the different personalities of the boys - or so I hope. :)

Well done - that must be a relief!
Friday, May 20th, 2022 04:31 pm (UTC)
It is, although there still is the dreaded seaming to do.

Getting a bit overwhelmed with all the things I need to do, but the last week I've worked on modifying my medieval tent and starting a silver circlet and still going on the blue cloak. I did finish a red cloth for a backdrop which was just hemming on the machine. Hopefully, another catch up over the weekend.

Well done for getting some things worked on. Don't let the amount of things overwhelm you, just enjoy things one at a time - there will always be more to do than time.
Friday, May 20th, 2022 01:59 pm (UTC)
Hope you can take a little time to just rest too. I peeked at your journal and that's a lovely blue.

You are multitasking with alacrity! ;)
Saturday, May 21st, 2022 10:11 am (UTC)
You have been busy!
Friday, May 20th, 2022 06:49 am (UTC)
I didn't even manage to get one whole length of thread sewn in. I was working on the bank again - lots of counting around spaces where other colours are going to go and my eyes kept drooping because I was too tired for words, so I had to give up before I ended up making a mess and having to undo it all. Hopefully I'll get more done at the weekend.
Friday, May 20th, 2022 01:55 pm (UTC)
Definitely time to stop!
Friday, May 20th, 2022 04:33 pm (UTC)
I admire everyone who can do stitching where counting is involved. I'd fail miserably. But you are right: if you are tired, you better rest a bit first.
Saturday, May 21st, 2022 10:12 am (UTC)
Hope you were able to get some good rest.
