Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Sam Gamgee would be proud of you! :)

Hooray for progress. Good luck digging up the geranium, it is hard when they're flowering!
Thursday, May 19th, 2022 12:46 am (UTC)
Yes. I was just spraying bugs on the roses again, and thinking...why am I doing care on a couple that I don't want to keep? May be cutting those off in the next few days, so at least they aren't harboring pests.

The geranium is in a mounded clump
But sadly it's heading for the dump
It's growing in a silly place
And BK really wants the space!

Well done, you’re doing a fantastic job and the garden will be amazing by the time you’re done. Shame about the geraniums, but with more in the garden you’ll be able to grow more if you want to.

yay gardening!

The condo I am hopefully buying (waiting on paperwork) has a lovely strip of plants out front. My mom was reassuring me today that she would help, as I have negative plant skills. :)

Best wishes for the condo!

I've finished seaming one of the deep sea pages. The stitches aren't as straight and even as I'd prefer them, but after having undone one side, oh, I think seven times and the eight version wasn't any better, I decided to leave it as it is. I seriously doubt that the two-year-old recipients would notice - or care. It is me who's annoyed when I can't produce the quality I've aimed for, but sometimes you just have to let things go.

My thoughts exactly, as disappointing as it is.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 08:36 pm (UTC)
On the 9th time you lose it entirely, so a good thing you stopped. ;). It probably won't be even as noticable to you when it's finished?
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:09 pm (UTC)
I doubt it, but I had to admit defeat this time. :(
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 08:53 pm (UTC)
It's so frustrating when things don't look as good as one wants, but you will be the only one who knows.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:10 pm (UTC)
I hope so...
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:03 pm (UTC)
Frustrating for you when you’ve worked so hard and it still hasn’t come out quite how you want it to. I’m sure it will be okay though.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:11 pm (UTC)
Okay or not, there's nothing I can do about it. Perhaps the other page will look better. /fingers crossed/

A little work on the afghan today, and the yarn I ordered shipped. Herrschners didn't let me down.

Weeded for about half an hour. It rained over 2" in one burst and everything looks beaten down. Will spray for bugs again on the roses.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 08:54 pm (UTC)
Hooray for the yarn being on its way!
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:05 pm (UTC)
Well done for your crafting and gardening progress and exciting to have a package of supplies on the way.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:12 pm (UTC)
Death to the bugs! And hurrah for the yarn!

Stitching was easier today - I've stitched one of the fishing boats, so seeing the pattern was much easier.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:06 pm (UTC)
Well done, good to hear things are going well.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:25 pm (UTC)
Thank you.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:13 pm (UTC)
Sounds great. :)
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:26 pm (UTC)
Thank you.

Fortunately not stormy waters...
Thursday, May 19th, 2022 12:49 am (UTC)
Glad you made it out of the water. :D
Thursday, May 19th, 2022 07:19 am (UTC)
There's more sea to do, but this was a nice change.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:09 pm (UTC)
I’ve continued with the cross stitch- working on the grass on top of the bank, Piglet’s ears and more of the bank. Not as much progress as the last few days, but I didn’t have anywhere near the same amount of time so still okay.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:13 pm (UTC)
Small steps are valuable, too.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 10:27 pm (UTC)
That all sounds good.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 11:16 pm (UTC)
sounds great!
Thursday, May 19th, 2022 12:54 am (UTC)
Sounds good! I didn't even get half of a round done on the afghan but I did something.
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 11:15 pm (UTC)
finished a project today! (except the washing, ironing, whatever, la la) I am particularly proud of my French knots! I learned a new technique today and it's pretty great.
Thursday, May 19th, 2022 12:55 am (UTC)
Yay for finished project! The knots do look great.
Thursday, May 19th, 2022 07:21 am (UTC)
That's looking really good.
