Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

I managed to squeeze in maybe 40-45 minutes out in the garden before it started spitting with rain. Probably could gave stayed out longer because the rain never really got going, but I managed to tear weeds off about another square foot, so it's progress. Pulling them was making my thumb hurt though. I'm right-handed, but for some reason I mostly pull weeds with my left hand, even though I know it will hurt my thumb. =/

Also got some cross stitching done on the little owl. I finished the fence post he's sitting on, the owl's feet, and made good progress on his body. I estimate I'm about a third of the way through the design.

I've now started the second of my small Tenby hoops. This one's the harbour, so lots of shades of blue at the moment.

I haven't posted here in forever. I gave the vest I was knitting to my aunt to finish, and I am now enjoying the time I focus on hobbies again, mainly the garden, my indoor plants, but also crocheting. I am crocheting sunflowers, making them into granny square and I hope I will be able to make it into a pillow.

I finished seasoning the cast iron cook surfaces for the grill today. It has been cool because we had thunderstorms most of the morning. Which also means I didn't go out and do any outdoor work, though I did go out and take a couple photos of where water is puddling up instead of draining for future projects.

Slow and steady work on the afghan border. Had an email that my yarn order was canceled because it was out of stock, made an order elsewhere.

Sounds like you're getting ready for summer cook-outs!

We have thunderstorms forecast for tonight, but I'm doubtful. I think it might be raining a little bit, but there's no feel of a storm brewing. Good idea to take photos of where the rain is pooling. Hopefully it will help you figure out a way to prevent the problem, or at least work around it.

I was working on the deep sea pages today. I've made surprisingly good progress and actually finished both the second octopus and the stitching together of the corresponding pages. Next step: the seaming, and then the dreaded binding of the books.

Yesterday, I cooked Ragu sauce (Davina McCall recipe), Flapjacks (British style - not pancakes) and made a peach and plum crumble. There was enough of each for me to give to family who are returning from a trip to save them having to cook today (well they'll need to do some pasta to go with the Ragu and cook the crumble but there's no prep other than that). There was also enough Ragu for me to freeze about 6 portions for future use.

By the time I'd cleaned up and done some other chores I was too tired to get any of my cross-stitch done.

Ooooh, sounds delicious! I adore flapjacks, and peach and plum crumble sounds heavenly. I've cooked up some plums for breakfast.

Sad you didn't have time or energy for cross stitch, but just think of all the yummy things you've got to eat!
