Finished the cross stitch on the tawny owl's head, I just have a bit more backstitch to do and then I'll be starting the long-eared owl's head.

Got a lot of writing done today, actually - finished something for a zine promo, wrote a first draft of another piece, and started throwing around ideas for another!

I did a fair amount of writing today too, mostly drabbles sand some editing.

It does. But stressful times aren't good for creativity.

When I;'m stressed I throw myself even more into writing because it's an escape. We all deal in our own ways.

True. I need a quiet mind to be able to write - especially as I tend to write ungodly long and complicated stories that are usually interconnected with other stories in the same fandom...

Your writing is indeed a lot more complex than mine. My brain can't handle complicated plots because I keep forgetting what I've written I can read three books at once and keep the plots straight, but I can't remember my own writing. Brains, why so difficult?

I had very little time for crafting today, as a dear old friend came to visit after two years of only phone contact. I had to bake something to celebrate the event, which cost me most of my spare time (totally worth it, BTW). But I finished the stitching of one page base and applied four of the nine required velcro pieces. Black ones - my eyes were rolling out of my head after a while. So, all in all, I am content.

Stitching on black can really strain the eyes. Still, sounds like good progress has been made!

I'm in Gauge Swatch mode for what I hope will be a gorgeous Faroese shawl. I think I'm sick of knitting the gauge swatch (I think I made it too wide honestly) and tonight I will finish it up and wash it and block it for measuring.

Gauge swatches can be so frustrating and annoying, but sometimes they can't be avoided. I hope your swatch comes up the right size after washing and blocking so you don't have to make another one!
