Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I've stitched the first two colours of the tawny owl head! It doesn't look anything like an owl's head yet, but I'm sure it will, given time.

Sometimes you just have to go on and hope for the best.

I know it will be fine, it's just that I stitched all of one colour, then all of the next, so what I've got are random bits of stitching that don't look like anything. Ever colour added will make a bigger difference. Cross stitching never looks like what it's supposed to be at the start.

I've worked a bit on the outline recognition page. The geometric shapes are now all sewn together, and I started stitching the outlines on the page bases. Not as much as I planned to, but small progress is also progress.

It sounds to me like you got a fair amount done! Every stitch is progress.

Spoiler: it wasn't a good month, sigh.

I am supposed to be working on niece's blanket today. Instead I knit two rounds on the secret project, and am now swatching yet again for some tops I had planned on making.

I think I might have posted about these in the past? The first is Rosenmalva and the second is Through the Leaves Wrap Top. I had gauge issues with both, however, and eventually abandoned my attempts at making them. But now I am seriously thinking of giving them another try because OOOH PRETTY.

What a frustrating month you had! The bag sounds especially disappointing after all the work you put into it.

Yay for the projects you did manage to complete though, and good luck with your swatches. The tops are pretty, especially the leaves one!

As frustrating as the month might have been, you still managed a great deal to do, and that is what counts.
