Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

I have finished stitching the little snowy owl! He's quite cute.

Next will be a tawny owl's head which I'm hoping to start stitching tomorrow. It's going to be quite fiddly because it uses a lot more colours than the snowy owl did.

Only 4 in the whole snowy owl, but I think at least double that for the tawny. Maybe 9 or 10... The design is no bigger than the snowy owl, but a whole lot more intricate, with fractionals for the eyes.

Thanks! It's still very small, but it uses more colours to give the speckled look.

Yes, it will be a combination of different patterns.

Woohoo! What sort of design are you doing?

Initials of son, DIL and mini-Hobbit, so it's more a snapshot of time, based on their interests, rather than a straight anniversary card. So a stitched present as well.

Also, I've started working on the outline recognition page. 10 of the altogether 18 geometric shapes are finished, the remaining 8 applied with their Velcro pieces, and the page bases are drawn.

How cute! I love that you've given them different backgrounds and landscapes!

Well done with making progress on the outline recognition pages. Sounds like you've been working very hard at attaching the velcro!

Since these are also the back covers, they needed to have the same background pattern as the front ones. As for the landscapes - their shapes were determined by the size of the felt rests I had in my bag. *g*
