Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I have stitched! YAY! I'm about a third of the way through the little snowy owl design. Not the most thrilling stitching ever, some shading on the ground, and then the rest of the stitching has all been white. There are three colours used in the owl itself, but white is the main one so I'm doing that first.

That's the good news. The bad news is that all the files I copied off my old laptop onto a USB stick are a failure. When I went to copy some more, everything but the first folder on the USB stick is corrupted and unreadable. So, 2 days of work down the drain. Maybe if I tried again with a better USB stick...

The only consolation is that the files on the computer itself seem fine. The problem is copying them *sigh*

The stitching is going well at least!

That is something at last. But the PC woes are really frustrating. So sorry about them!

Thanks. It really is annoying. I can't use my new external hard drive on the old laptop because it's incompatible, the wrong USB connection. I'll see if I can get some better USB sticks and transfer the folders one at a time, see if that helps.

Trying a different tack, downloading onto CD rom to transfer to another old repaired laptop that works better. Then maybe I can copy them to my new external hard drive.

My son's tenth wedding anniversary is in a couple of weeks' time, so I want to do a card for that, and then I plan to stitch another of the Tenby series, this time the harbour.
