Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I finished the backstitch on the flower design, so all three are now finished! I haven't photographed them yet, might take a few days to get around to that, but I'll get there.

I've dug out the owl designs so hopefully I can get back to stitching them soon. Also found another set of flower designs where I've started stitching the first one, so they're in the queue behind the owls.

I intended to make two tags with little messages for The Thing of Beauty today. The first one, a double card, turned out quite nice and was done in no time. The second one, though...

First I managed to mess up the writing on the otherwise completed (and fairly pretty) card - I left out a letter from the most important word. I tried to glue a strip of white paper with the corrected word on it, but it looked... well, shabby. So I tore up the card. After doing some serious housework slaving, I decided to redo the card - and tore it up as soon as it was finished. It turned out really gauche. So I thought third time is the charm, and since the message was clearly cursed, I exchanged it for a different one. Card #3 is... acceptable, although still not what I've hoped it would be. But I refuse to redo it a fourth time!

Honestly, I can't wait to be done with this project. I seem to have lots of bad luck with it lately.

Oh goodness, that must have been so frustrating and disheartening. At least you got an acceptable result eventually, even if it wasn't what you originally wanted.

Hopefully the last bits of the project will go more smoothly.

It was frustrating, yes, but at least I am done now.

Given how little actual crafting I have been able to do of late, I'm going to say this really quietly in the hope of not jinxing any future opportunities. Last night, I did some work on the Winnie the Pooh cross stitch. I also put some more of my threads on to cards and started looking at the new patterns I got while away so I can make arrangements to get the colours I will need to start making cards.

I had taken the cross stitch with me while I was away but the rooms I was staying in were too dark to be able to do any work on it (why do they make the lighting so poor in hotel rooms in the useful spaces and bright in the bits of the room you can't sit/use?)
