Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I got outside while it wasn't raining and cleared some more of the brambles! Also managed some work on my cross stitch. I've completed the backstitch around all three hot air balloons, and one of the corner hearts. Three more of those to do on this design, and I still have the backstitch to do on the one with the flowers and bee.

It was definitely a case of down! I had to pull them out of the tree's branches and off the top of the greenhouse.

You've done well getting so much backstitch done.

It's a very small design, but there was a fair amount of fiddly backstitch because of me using 18 hpi fabric rather that the usual 14 hpi. I had hoped to get that one finished, but I had to stop and get my chores done.

It was quite a productive day!

In the morning I worked a bit on The Thing of Beauty - grandted, only one page, but I had to demolish it and redo almost from the scratch because I was very unhappy with the outcome. It has a completely different design now, and looks magnitudes better. *Phew!*

So frustrating when you have to re-do something but I'm glad you're happy with the finished result!

I put all the knitted squares for my throw on the bed at the weekend and have decided I'm half way through, with another 18 to knit. Rowan are running a weekly knitalong for the next few weeks, so I've signed up as they're doing squares for a throw/cushion. I shall adjust their designs to fit in with what I'm doing, but it means I shall have another 7 (why they've gone with 7 I don't know) different squares. Which means I will have patterns for 31 squares.

Good luck with the knitalong! Another 7 patterns will at least add some more variety - if that's even needed!

I'm hoping each square will be different, so 7 more will be a great help.

I haven't done anything since finishing the second infinity scarf because my fixed term position is ending and I don't have anything lined up afterwards, so I'm conscious I may need to make these last paychecks last longer, which means no sinking money into craft projects. Sadface. I'm making good writing progress lately, though, and I have designs on baking a cake in the next week or two.

Life sometimes conspires against crafting, but yay for writing progress and enjoy your baking! I hope you will find a new position soon.
