Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Sounds like excellent progress to me, even though I haven't got a clue what backstitch is. The last time I did cross stitch was back in the 5th grade, I think, and I sucked at it. Used to smuggle home all the stitching we did at school, so that Grandma could correct it for me. ;))

Electric sewing machines are the bane of my existence. Even my 20cm by 20cm Louise is way too fast for me, and you can't rotate the wheel by hand in these.

Delightful!

That's a good chunk for cross stitch!

We had the big Spring cleaning today, so there wasn't much time left for crafts. I did a tiny bit of sewing, though - all puzzle squares for the castle puzzle page are now finished, and I even forced myself to sew on two further pieces of Velcro, so I'll only have to do 7 more tomorrow. And all 6 lines with which the background will be safely stitched to the base page.

Spring cleaning is so fulfilling! I'm glad you also had time for sewing.

I don't find anything fulfilling in spring cleaning. For me, it's a not-so-necessary evil. I wouldn't go without it for eternity, since we clean the dratted flat thoroughly every other week. But my mother has different ideas, and there's no use arguing with a 90-year-old about housework.

Sincerest apologies. My word choice there was ill-considered.
Tuesday, April 5th, 2022 06:07 pm (UTC)
Oh, no need for that! You couldn't know how much I hate cleaning. ;))

I must admit that it was a heroic feat of willpower, but I so hate this dratted Velcro that I wanted to bring it behind me, ASAP.

Wow, you've had a big day! Craft progress and cleaning.

I hate cleaning with the passion of a thousand burning suns. It's just so pointless. You work like a slave, and the results last about two days.

Yesterday I dug up the weird strip of weeds between the sidewalk and the road to become a flower bed.

Today husband & I worked on organizing the basement. He's not allowed to start any more house projects until tools and workspaces are cleaned up.

He's been buying materials for projects and then they disappeared into the chaos. 8)

I have two colors of daisy, moss rose, and my parents are going to bring some Mediterranean pink starts (soapwort). There's a few lilies we planted there last fall. We put them by the light post so I didn't go that far in digging.

That's right! Sometimes one has to put one's foot down!
