Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Finished the last 8 pumpkins, and also did a tiny bit of cross stitch earlier.

My import still hasn't worked so I've got to give it another try. If you get replies later from bk_forever, that's just me logged ito my other journal.

I'm not on twitter, but I contacted the dreamwidth people. Apparently part of my import failed but the system didn't inform them. I tried again, and I'm all imported now!

I am much relieved. Now I can just import every couple of weeks to keep everything safe in case LJ goes off air.

I contacted the dw folks and tried again. All imported now! My first try failed on one bit but their system didn't tell them. It must have dozed off, lol! Took less than 20 minutes this time!

Wow! You really whizzed through the finishing touches to the pumpkins. Hope the cross stitch went smoothly.

They're not the most brilliant pumpkin faces ever, but they're okay.

Most of my time was spent trying to find the white thread. I'd taken it out of the bag containing one project because I needed it for another, and I had to track it down again before I could start. I only did a little bit but it's progress on a small design for a greeting card. There's a set of three, one of which all the cross stitch is done and only needs backstitch now, a second (the one I worked on today) that still has a bit of cross stitch to do on a yacht sail and the waves beneath the boat, and I haven't started the third one yet.

Several more rows on the new infinity scarf! This one's going much faster. Doubtful I'll finish before it warms up too much to wear it but I'll love it regardless. :D

Glad this one is going faster! Even if you don’t wear it this season you’ll still have the enjoyment of having made it.

Sounds like you're making great progress on your new scarf. If you're worried about the change in the weather meaning you wont use the scarf just hold in mind that you're preparing for next year :)

That's practice, see? The more you knit the easier it gets. You're doing great, and come next winter you'll have two infinity scarves as well as the regular kind you made first to keep you nice and warm. That's quite an achievement!

So pretty! Looks really complicate though. How long did it take you?

The first iteration of the pattern took me over an hour partially because I had to keep checking the pattern, and also I was watching a K-drama at the time, but in total I'd say it took only about four hours. Once I knew the mechanics of the pattern it was pretty easy, although a couple of times I made mistakes and had to undo my work, which is quite fiddly.

That's fast! I was thinking it must have taken a couple of days. I imagine it would be hard to undo mistakes though.

I didn't manage it all in one sitting, so in that sense it took a couple of days, but total time was only about four hours.

I worked a bit on the quiet books; namely, on the six honey pots for the gentlebears. You'd think I can finish six felt honey pots in two hours, right? You'd be mistaken. Sewing on the decorative honey drops first (all 12 of them), and then the Velcro on the back of the things is really hard on the fingers. So, adding the lids and sewing them together will have to wait.

It's intricate work so it doesn't surprise me that you have to put so much time into your work.

Fiddly work takes time, plus working with velcro... I'm not at all surprised you didn't get them finished. After 2 hours of sewing your hands must have needed a rest. You'll get them finished once your hands have recovered.

So I finished the jigsaw that I've been working on since Saturday and this is it:

I was going to try and finish the sweater, but I'm too tired, my eyes are drooping and I don't want to make any mistakes at this stage.

Best not to try when you're tired. You'll get it finished when you're more awake.
