Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Shock! Horror! No crafting done by me today! I still have 8 pumpkins to finish!

I decided I should import my LJ to dreamwidth, not to my regular journal over here as I already make posts there, but to a secondary journal I set up years ago, so I've been fiddling about, trying to figure out what I'm doing, and I've been logging in and out of both journals because I don't know any way of being logged into both at the same time. I don't actually think it's possible. Anyway, between that and making a mod post for a community where I'm a co-mod, actual crafting never got underway. The pumpkins will have to wait.

Goodness, what a hassle. I imported my LJ to DW years ago and fully don't remember a thing about how to do it, and I'm sure it's changed in the meantime anyway. Best of luck :(

Thanks. Setting the process going turned out not to be too difficult, but it'll probably take hours because so many people are doing the same thing. I've just been putting it off for over a week because I am SO not techy in any way, but tonight I decided to just get on with it. I have an awful lot of posts though, two or three every day for the last 7 years at least. It's a bit daunting to think of it all having to be copied o_O

It's always good to have your LJ backed up. I do the same, although I'm *not* planning to switch over to DW if I can help it. I've been on LJ since 2003, it's my true home online, so unless it's taken from me I'll stick to it. Still, backup is a handy thing.

I'm sticking too, I've paid for the darn thing and I'm not wasting my money, but I want everything backed up in case LJ vanishes, so I don't lose anything that matters. Still waiting for the import to complete though.

I got hit with a wave of The Depression and even though I've had the yarn for days I haven't cast on the new infinity scarf yet. Gonna try to do it tomorrow though.

The scarf is still coming along. It's been a good learning curve in terms of my first time increasing and then decreasing stitches.

Congratulations! Everything gets easier with practice. It's amazing how many ways there are of increasing or decreasing the number of stitches, only some of which are intentional ;)

I got distracted from granny square afghans by ice drops, and then I got distracted from ice drops by other granny square crafts, and I made a very ugly and ill-fitting granny square slipper. But now I know how the pattern works and how sizing works and can be adjusted, and I feel like this skill will be useful should the zombie apocalypse befall us and I survive with my hooks, needles, and yarn stash.

I started on a new jigsaw - I was only going to spend 30 minutes but several hours later, I've made good progress on it and now need to catch up on everything else I was supposed to be doing during that time.

Ah, the addictive properties of jigsaws! They're a great way of wasting time when we're supposed to be doing other things, but if you enjoyed it then that's what matters.
