Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I've done the 8 remaining page bases for The Thing of Beauty. Because creating something beautiful is needed to balance out the ugliness happening beyond our eastern border. :(

I did a bit of a jigsaw - too many repeating patterns for my liking as it's a real struggle to find where anything fits - I've discovered that I like to be making steady progress not just sitting filtering through pieces without finding anything that fits together. That I find quite demoralising - I'll give it a bit longer but may end up giving up on it - the one I'm working on is a pair of Egyptian gods (I think it's Horus and Thoth), but they are surrounded by circuits of repeating Egyptian motifs which are what's proving problematic.

There comes a point when it's no longer enjoyable and the best thing to do is move on.

You have my sympathy, jigsaws like that can be a pain. I have the same problem with some of the online jigsaws I choose to do, spending ages just trying to find two pieces that actually fit together. It's frustrating and irritating.

Hiya! Been a while since I last checked in. I kept myself busy during the last days of the Olympics, trying to finish my projects for the Ravellenic Games. I didn't finish everything I wanted, but I did make a nice, big crocheted basket that has already been put to use, corralling some of the skeins of yarn in my room. I'm quite pleased with it! No pictures yet, but I'll be doing my monthly crafting round-up post in the next two days so will share pictures then.

I have felt a sense of FREEDOM ever since the Games ended. It's been nice and I've been doing less crafting, though I wouldn't be me if I wasn't crafting at all. I'm currently working on a pair of fingerless mitts. Playing yarn chicken but I think I might have enough yarn for them. They're from a skein of angora/nylon/wool mix, and I only had 91 yards. The pattern says it takes 72 yards so should be plenty, but I altered the pattern by adding a thumb gusset, so... it's going to be close! But I'm pretty sure I'll make it.

I need to get back to working on niece's blanket. Might have to do two rows a day for a bit to get back on track.

Otherwise: a lot of my creative energy has gone to the Final Fantasy 2022 Kiss Battle. I left over 20 prompts, and have written two fics thus far. It's been fun! And it's open to any Final Fantasy fans so do come check it out if you're a fan of the franchise.

Well done for finishing the useful basket, and good luck with completing the mitts before you run out of yarn. I always find that stressful. Running out before the item is finished means all the effort and time has gone to waste, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

A few more rows on the infinity scarf! I noticed a mistake I made a while back was not as fixed as I thought, but it doesn't bother me enough to go back and re-do it. It'll just be a little bit wonky, and I'm a little bit wonky myself, so that suits me just fine. Note made for the future, though 😅

There's a fine balance between knowing when redoing is essential and when an error isn't that important. It just makes your scarf unique.
