Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

You are amazingly persistent. What is the current meece count?

That's a seriously impressive army of meeces!

I for one welcome our new meece overlords.

Mind-blowing! And I thought sewing 40+ felt Easter eggs was an accomplishment!

I did some minor calligraphy today and ran into an unexpected problem. Sadly, there was no satisfying solution. :((
You can read about the moderately interesting details in my personal journal - I don't want to bore everyone to death.

Well, I did some damage control, as you can read in my journal, and the outcome isn't bad, but I could have done without.

I refuse to give up easily. ;))
Stamping - if you can call my primitive method that - is something I did before, for purely decorative purposes, so I thought I might as well give it another try.

I'm so sorry ♥

That is nice of you, thanks. Unfortunately, there are some things that just happen unexpectedly.

A little dabbling in craft recently, but mostly it's been organising house stuff (ongoing...). Getting closer to the fun decor bits where I can employ some crafting.
Deb left me a couple of little photo frames so I put some of my fanciest scrapbook papers in them to make little mini artworks. I think they look quite good (I'm not really a family photos person and doubt I'd have any photos of me and my parents in the last 15 years - that's how not photos we are!) The pictures aren't great as there's too much reflection in the glass.

I've also got some little wooden coasters that I might paint and cover the top with nice papers and some lacquer.

Also putting the backstitch on Sonja's baby cross stitch (she's due today, so waiting for the name announcement to put in those last details) then I can start organising a frame for it.

Those look lovely!

Fancy scrapbook papers are for the win!

Finished this double knit square, which counts for both the Ravellenics and Nerdopolis:

A blanket square with a glyph from Fullmetal Alchemist on it.

But the biggest news is that I went to a craft fair today to do some market research. Long post on my findings with polls on potential pricing of items in my journal, here: https://xnera.dreamwidth.org/1070545.html

Gosh I miss going to craft fairs, but agree, it's really hard to price things when you have to factor in the time it takes you to make it. Definitely the reason I've never been brave enough to try it. Custom orders are tricky, because I suppose most people want to take things home on the day, but hope you find the right middle ground!

Very cool!

I started a new full-time job this week and hadn't figured out how best to manage my time, so I didn't get much done this week. But this weekend I picked up the infinity scarf again and have added a few more rows. I'm past the point at which I messed it up on the second try, so fingers crossed and knock on wood it progresses smoothly!

Thank you!

Good luck with the new job; it is never an easy thing.

Thank you! I'm hoping I've done some better time management planning this week so it'll be a bit easier.
