Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

You'll soon be overrun!

And then the meeces will branch out to take over the planet! ;)

As long as there is enough cheese...

You are most definitely speeding up!

Well done on meeces and yarn sorting.

I've begun a new cross stitch of a swan plus six cygnets, which I was given when I retired at the end of last March. It's black canvas, so not the easiest, so I shall see how I get on.

Black canvas? Oh dear, how can your eyes deal with it? I'd go blind in no time!
Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 11:44 pm (UTC)
It's not great, but I stitch in the afternoon so it's a bit easier to see.
Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 11:46 pm (UTC)
Yes, I can do it but it's not the easiest fabric.

I've got a white sheet of stiff paper I could use. I have noticed some of the stitches aren't quite as regular but hopefully, because it's mostly blocks of colour it won't be noticeable.

But not the yellow pillow cases with white rabbits on it!
Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 12:02 am (UTC)
Sounds like it will be lovely but I'm sure the black canvas will be hard work.
Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 12:04 am (UTC)
Thank you. The canvas is tedious but hopefully will be a good background.

Interesting. I, too, recalled your Strawberry thief one, so I imagine this will be just as nice.
Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 09:01 am (UTC)
I hope so. It's quite long so I may take a break partway through.

I worked a bit on Baby Book #2. The inside binding thingie is now done, which is a relief, and I've more or less made Page #4. There are two tags I still have to make, but the pocket turned out very pretty, and I'm happy with it. I think it's time to make (and post) some photos of the already finished parts, soon, just to show off a bit. Showing off is good for the psyche! ;))
Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 11:46 pm (UTC)
Looking forward to seeing the pics.

I look forward to seeing your results so far because it sounds great.

Echoing the enthusiasm for photos.

Didn't get any crocheting done today either - hands, wrists and elbows were uncomfortable. I did manage a little drabble-type writing - nothing earth shattering but it's a long time since I've done any real writing, so there was that.
Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 01:21 am (UTC)
Yay for drabbles.
Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 09:03 am (UTC)
Writing drabble is a good way to get back in and it helps to concentrate the mind.

Difficult to see but they (front and back views) are two paper buildings made from a kit of four total. Two historical buildings in the Cornish town of Mousehole. I made the one on the left today and the one on the right a few weeks ago.

Those are lovely. The pillars must have been fiddly.
Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 02:43 pm (UTC)
Thanks. Yes, indeed. Very fiddly.

Thanks!
