Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

It's very cold right and my son requested a new hat ... of course I cast on instantly. Turns out all I needed to recapture my knitting mojo was to go back to knitting hats! Very exciting.

I've finished all six major photo mats for the second baby book and I'm reasonably content with the outcome. Of course, one always finds details that could have - and should have - been done better, but that's why we are hand-crafters and not machines, right? Next I'll be making the inner binding, because that's finicky and boring and always a relief when finally done, and then I'll go on to Page #4. *fingers crossed*

Bunny finished!



Its name is "Flopsy". The garter stitch is not conducive to firm stuffing, so it's a very soft toy. It's cute, but... Eh. Just, eh. I think I like the other bunny better, despite how much more work it is.

In other news, the gift bag I was using to tote around niece's blanket is starting to come apart, which of course led to me searching for tote bag patterns yesterday, haha. I might still make one, but part of me thinks the idea is insanity.

I have plans to make another snow globe ornament as a test, but I've been distracted today by a commenting challenge I posted in my journal, oops.

Flopsy bunny is cute, and squishy is often best for small toys. Better for little hands to grip.

I bet you'll make a tote eventually. Once the idea is there, it can become impossible to ignore.

I know quite a few people doing the Snowflake Challenge. I just never get around to it, always too busy with other things.

Just a pinch left on skein 3 of the afghan, I will finish that off in a bit. Close up photo this time, I think the stitch pattern would be good with a white or black yarn for the foundation rounds and a rainbow for the shells.

Also I'm ordering some seeds for spring planting. This year I'll focus on making a flowerbed out of the weird little strip of weeds between the sidewalk and the street. I'm ordering 2 colors of daisy (one native and will be perennial) and moss rose to get started for that. I've already planted a few lilies and a rose verbena.

That stitch is really gorgeous, and a contrast between the foundation rows, especially in black, with a rainbow of shells would produce a really striking effect.

That reminds me, I need to get some flower seeds too. Sweet peas, sunflowers, and godetia.

More on the little embroidery and organza kit. It’s been quite therapeutic, especially since this week turn another turn for the lousy.

Finished my tasselled towel AND finished the bath house curtains. I had a lot of ideas which plain didn't work or didn't match manuscript pictures, so I had to rethink a bunch of things. Pretty happy with the result.

I know I said I wasn’t going to jigsaw for a while but … foolishly I’ve started another one anyway. This did my back precisely zero good yesterday and so I ended up taking painkillers and falling asleep before even picking up the sweater. Hopefully I’ll make up for it today.

Oops! But jigsaws are rather addictive when you're in the mood for them. Hope your back will feel better after a few days of sitting down working on your sweater.
