Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Finished four meeces, and knitted 5 more.

Also started another pair of arm warmers (dark grey) because I needed something straightforward to knit while watching Dancing on Ice. I've done 44 rows!

Feeling better than yesterday, so hopefully I'm past the worst.

44 rows of arm warmers is impressive. I did 20 rows for my scarf while watching Call The Midwife.

Thanks, and well done! I bet your scarf rows have a lot more stitches than my arm warmers (59 for those).

No, my scarf rows are only 44 stitches - it's a long scarf though.

That surprises me! Although I imagine it's thicker wool and bigger needles than I'm using, so it'll be nice and cosy.

Not that much really. It's only 59 stitches per row, and I had an hour and a half to work on it.

They have mostly, but I can't knit them while watching people ice-skating, so an alternative was required, and arm-warmers are always useful.

My friend in Florida missed it too, thanks to tornados of all things.

What did you think of the first 6? I thought there was some potential, but I'm sort of reserving judgment until I've seen all 12.

I don't have anything as dramatic as a tornado to blame - I was jigsawing and listening to a book and hadn't realised the time...

Definitely some potential, I have two tentative favourites so far - not necessarily technically the best at this stage but both I liked their enthusiasm and the way they spoke (that's not an accent thing - I mean the why they were doing it etc). Looking forward to seeing the rest of the list next week and week 3 and hoping we see more and that my initial reactions follow through and continue to improve.

There are a couple I have have my eyes on, one male and one female, so it'll be a case of seeing who makes consistent improvements and who doesn't.

I've been watching DoI from the first series, it's something mum and I both used to enjoy. Now it's just me watching, and thinking how much she would have enjoyed it.

Hi all! I'm a new member. I'm doing a project where you learn an embroidery stitch every week and I caught up today by using front stitch, back stitch, and whipped back stitch on a sampler. Then I switched to my current cross-stitch project. I don't know how much progress I made because it's all long rows of black right now and I forgot to check where I started, but at least a couple of rows!

That sounds very adventurous! I cross stitch, but I'm useless at other embroidery stitches, I pull too tight, so I'm very impressed that you've learned all that in a day!

Well done with the cross stitch. Those long rows of one colour can get really tedious. What are you stitching?

It's a Schitt's Creek piece that says "Simply the Best" - here's the work in progress (along with the embroidery sampler) and here it is on the site I got it from.

The cross stitch is going to be awesome once it's finished, but all the black has got to be hard to do!

The other embroidery looks really tricky. Great message, but stitching the actual heart... Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it. For a learning project it seems quite complicated. You're a lot braver than me, tackling that!

Did about half a skein of crocheting on the baby blanket. It's going to go fast, the repeat is easy.
