Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Baby Boy Mini Album
My main problem with these scrapbooking vids is that the people who post them almost always overdo the embellishments by at least 30 per cent. I like my embellishments to actually have a function, instead of just being pretty.
In any case, the page bases are done, and I've made extensive notes - and drawings - for tomorrow, so that I will hopefully be able to finish at least one full page... perhaps two. We'll see.

Well done with the preparations of the page bases, and the planning.

I have a number of part-finished meeces to work on tomorrow though, destined for various members. I can get back to doing more knitting once my arm stops hurting.

That you still finished some meeces and made new ones is heroic!

Thanks! It'll take more than a sore arm to keep me from my meece-ing!
It's too cold here for me t0o feel like putting ice on it though. -3C at present *shivers*

Also: crocheted a snow globe ornament as a prototype for a possible fair item. It's really cute! The pattern comes with four designs, too, so I'll have some variety. I'll post pictures sometime in the next few days. It took me about two hours to do, and is a bit fiddly but no where near as fiddly as the knitted bunny, so it might be a contender.

That sounds like a lovely idea, and with practice you might be able to reduce the time it takes to make each one.

It's knitted and the yarn is teal (label says 'petrol', but it's teal).
I found a really basic pattern so I could figure out how to pick up stitches for sleeves and knit in the round (magic loop this time, though I think I can see why someone would want dpns). It's amazing how much more it looks like a garment with a sleeve attached.

I've never knitted a cardigan in the round (or a sweater for that matter), all of the patterns I've collected over the years are made in pieces - back, front(s), two sleeves - and I suspect I wouldn't be able to handle the weight, just doing the neckband on one of my sweaters makes my arms hurt as I have weak wrists. I'd be very interested so see the finished result if you'd care to share a picture when it's completed.
Knitting in the round is so popular these days, and it certainly cuts down on the sewing up, but I've only used it a few times, making fingerless gloves many years ago, and even then I used dpins. Very fiddly!
