Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I'm very easily distracted. No sooner have I started something than I want it to be done so I can start something else. It's not unusual for me to have multiple projects on the go at the same time.

I haven't done anything yet today, but I'm about to start knitting so I'll check in again later.

70 rows knitted on an arm warmer, and I sewed up the pair I finished a few days ago.

I can be, especially if it is something totally opposite of what I'm working on. If working on an afghan, I will be attracted to a doily. If a doily, may be staring at cardigans.

I haven't been able to work on my doily for a couple days. I just did one round and took a small break. It is a lot of concentration. I'll do a photo for progress later today (2:30pm here).

No matter how good what we're making is, there's always something even more exciting *grins*

I can imagine, it looked very complex, especially with two colours to keep track of, but you're making progress.

I got as far as starting row 9 and ran out of steam. Then put it away before I remembered I wanted a progress photo. Eh. Tomorrow.

I definitely get side tracked. I've started on working two at a time (as I do with books x.x), but I also have small craft kits, the kind for kids, that are easy enough to do within an hour so if I'm distracted it's not for long.

Working on more than one project at a time definitely helps. Like you I always have at least two books on the go as well, although I've set one aside for the moment while I finish one I'm not keeping.

The small kits sound fun, giving you something different to work on before returning to the bigger projects.

I don't know how anyone only has one task going at time. Multiple tasks needed lol

Yeah I love small/child kits. Nice and easy distractions and all that.

Me neither, variety keeps enthusiasm levels up.

Distractions, yes, although I don't need anything to distract me from the things I should be doing; I manage that just fine all by myself...

Yes and I have jags where I do a lot and sudden droughts where nothing appeals.

Crafting requires us to be in the right mood and have the time available, which isn't always possible.

HI HELLO I am very late to the party (and new to the comm! *waves*) but I am a proud member of Project Starters Anonymous. I have many in progress projects, including knitting, crochet, and quilting.

In terms of knitting and crochet, I have told my husband that of course I can have as many projects going as I have project bags, right?!? He thought that was potentially dangerous, but, like, IT MAKES SENSE. (We won't talk about how between my own sewing and purchases, I have three new project bags in the past couple months. Yes, they each have new projects in them.)

Some projects do sit for longer than others, but I *do* work on them regularly, and I do get stuff finished on a regular basis! It's just so fun to start something new...

You are clearly multi-talented! And separate bags for each project sounds like a very sensible idea. New projects are so exciting, but less so if you misplace something essential. What are you working on at present?

HI thanks for the welcome! I've got a couple of shawls (one knit and one Tunisian crochet) and one sweater in progress, and the second of my first pair of socks. And I'm tempted to crochet up a set of wristwarmers...

My quilts are...stalled, at the moment. Partly because my sewing room is kind of put away, because it serves as a kitten nighttime holding room.

Oh, very sensible, you really don't need a kitten getting into your sewing things! Once many years ago my mum's puppy chewed up my knitting! The result was not pretty, the yarn was shredded.

That's a lovely variety of projects! I've never knitted socks but there's at least one other sock maker here.

Give in to temptation, make some wrist warmers! I've been knitting arm warmers recently because I have no heat at present, and they're really helping. They go from my elbows right down to the base of my fingers, with a hole for my thumb so they're like very long fingerless gloves. Great for when I'm sitting at my computer typing.
