Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Wow that is a Lot of meece.
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 02:52 pm (UTC)
Oh, dear! The meecing is definitely getting out of control! But I guess the results are pretty.

As long as you enjoy making them, go for it!

This week I'm progressing with my latest cross stitch bookmark, which is looking good so far. And I've been working on the next square for my throw, including undoing three rows this evening having made a mistake which threw the pattern out (as opposed to one stitch in the wrong place which I probably wouldn't have bothered about.)
Friday, January 7th, 2022 11:29 pm (UTC)
At least it was only 3 rows!
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 04:00 am (UTC)
One can never have too many bookmarks.
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 08:42 am (UTC)
I am of that firm opinion.
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 06:40 am (UTC)
Well done on your progress, shame about the having to back track with your square, hopefully the rest of the square will work smoothly.
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 08:43 am (UTC)
Thank you. It happens and I've only got a few more rows of pattern so hopefully it will be okay.

I'm knitting a sock, I started on the main part of the leg today and did half a repeat of the pattern - so twelve rows.
Friday, January 7th, 2022 11:30 pm (UTC)
That's really good.
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 04:01 am (UTC)
Socks are on my list of things to learn to make! Hooray for 12 rows!
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 06:40 am (UTC)
That's good progress.
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 07:50 pm (UTC)
First sock, though it's a pattern I've knitted before so I know I won't get second sock syndrome half way through!
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 11:30 pm (UTC)
Yes! I'm currently knitting the heel flap! :)
Sunday, January 9th, 2022 10:18 am (UTC)
I knit them in double knit rather than anything lighter - it helps!
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 02:55 pm (UTC)
Knittec socks are great! I wish I could make them, finding the right socks is always such a bother. It wouod be easier to make them - alas, knitting is beyond me. I admire those who can!

FOLKS!!! I went to Stitch Club yesterday and scored free Chiagoo needles!!! I missed the story as to why they were being given away, but there was a whole bag of tools being passed about for everyone to take what they wanted. Knitting needles are one of those things you can always use more of, and Chiagoos? *swoon*

While at stitch club I got two rows of niece's blanket done. It would have been more but I made a mistake in the pattern and had to rip half a row out.

Also yesterday, I worked on the Christmas stocking some. And then discovered I made a mistake in that as well, so it's now in timeout until I feel like tinking back.

Today: one row on niece's blanket. Crafts adjacent stuff: I volunteered to host our Ravellenics team again. It's a crafting challenge concurrent with the Olympics. Now I've got to decide what I want to make for it...

Finally: I have been reading The Bullet Journal Method book, so today I ventured out in the cold and went to the $1.25 store to pick up some supplies. I now have new journals and glitter pens to play with!

While I don't know about knitting needle brands, I can appreciate by the swooning that they are Kinda A Big Deal and you're excited for them, so well done!!! I hope they live up to the expectation!

Sounds like you have had a good couple of days. I've not heard of the needles but they sound like quite the acquisition, so that's good too.

Have fun with the gliter pens.
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 08:44 am (UTC)
Hooray for getting great needles.
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 02:58 pm (UTC)
I don't know about knitting needles, but glitter pens are for the win. Too bad that they never last long. But as long as they do last, they are fun!

No actual craft, maybe later while I watch dvds, but having a big clean, tidy and sort of the workroom where the crafting supplies are so I can get to them better. Having a bit of a streamline of things :)
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 06:48 am (UTC)
It's an important task when you have significant supplies to maintain them, so hopefully things went well.
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 08:45 am (UTC)
It does so help when you can find things.
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 03:00 pm (UTC)
Getting organized is important... as long as you can find things afterwards. Every time I work out a new storage system I end up digging through things frantically and causing an unholy mess. :((

More jigsaw time and nothing else. Unlike with many jigsaws, in this one the sky and water appear to be the easy parts - I'm now onto flower beds, bushes and trees which are proving challenging so far.
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 08:45 am (UTC)
That sounds like fun
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 03:01 pm (UTC)
I've made similar experiences with hidden object games. ;)
Saturday, January 8th, 2022 03:03 pm (UTC)
I've worked a bit on the inner binding of the baby book and watched more YouTube videos for inspiration. That counts, right?
